Angus, i was trying to keep everything setup like the original so each hole in the panel has the same gauge that came out of it. I can do a combo voltage/ammeter as well but then was thinking what the heck are you going to do with the other hole in the panel. Could do a dc voltage meter as well...
These are pretty darn bright. They light up in a bright blue. Its a pretty crappy day here today so no sun but next nice day i will try and get some pics.
so it seems like these are always needed. brand new ones are extremely expensive. even used ones are a bit pricy for a 20-30 year old gauge that may or may not work. there are other gauges out there but then they dont match your panel or drop in. i have been working on actual digital drop in...
your going to need to pull the pump and disassemble it. no way around it. the pumps internals need to be perfectly clean and free moving. if anything is sticky then that can cause low psi or broken parts inside.
oh we posted at the same time. this was meant to the op but will probably apply to...
i kinda have something in the works as well. too early in the game though but shouldnt take too long. it will be a round version to look similar to the original only digital and it will screw right in to the existing panel with all the original holes. i just have to find time real soon to sit...
Yeah thats the first gasket so that goes in yhen the spacer then fiber washer and cooling fin. That spacer is about 3/16" thick steel. You wont bend it. Clean the rust on the walls above it with some sandpaper or wire wheel then you can even LIGHTLY slide hammer it if necessary.
i dont think you mentioned it but is this a new to you generator that has always been this way since you got it or something that just started suddenly?
i doubt you will ever find that information. im sure there isnt a spec for that at all. torque unscrewing something isnt accurate anyway. you just gotta go by feel....more or less. if it starts to turn look at it while its doing it and you'll most likely be able to tell if its actually...
well after years of working in the marine industry you learn how to remove frozen, salt corroded bolts. the pb blaster certainly wont hurt but i can tell you the best thing is heat. heat is your friend and not the kind of heat from just running the engine. if they are frozen then remove...
mine ran great with one frozen injector and 3 of them 350psi low. i would never have known there was a problem other than it wouldnt put out over 90% power. it wouldnt run the rated load. i thought my ammeter was bad or not set right. i would never do a generator again without having the...
rob you can order the copper gaskets right from mcmaster carr for a couple bucks per 10pk. here is the part #94397A542
it could be that there are no gaskets on your plugs but its also very possible they are still stuck in the head. they like to do that.
cdr it could be that 125% and you were right on the edge of what that thing can handle then one little thing kicked on causing it to die. i have done the same thing with my 002. all that kicked on to send it in a downward spiral was a little micro fridge.
it just doesnt sound right to me but who knows. what does your ammeter say? % of load? if you cant peg the gauge then the best thing you can do is pull your injectors and have them done. out of 4 generators i have done every injector and there hasnt been one even close to being right. springs...
isaac do you really think enough psi will escape through the threads to make a difference in testing? it might no be a perfect seal but its not a fuel line either. just a quick 30 sec crank test. wrap a piece of teflon tape around the threads of one of those fittings and screw it in the hole...
