haha no jerry i meant i can weld it.
since you bought the epoxy, here is the prep:
the key to tank sealer is all in the prep. the metal need to be 100% rust free and etched. the process of course is it needs to be degreased and deoiled inside. a nice strong degreaser so slosh around inside...
jerry, stop the presses for a min. if its just the bottom of the tank thats real bad and not really the ends then i can just as easily cut the bottom of the tank off and tig weld in new sheetmetal so you dont have to mess with it. also another thought is for the price of the stuff from caswell...
Yeah, i have been using the caswell stuff in all the custom motorcycle tanks i have painted over the past 6 years or so. Both alum and steel tanks. It works great. Nothing can beat a novalac epoxy. All the store bought stuff is junk. Kreem etc.
Well one thing to think about is if the tank leaked after the pressure washing then there were pinholes in the metal that were just getting ready to go anyway. Metal must have been as thin as tinfoil in spots. Your really better off finding the weak spots and taking care of them now.
I have a volvo that is 10 years old and still has the factory battery in it and there is no signs of it wearin down yet. I just wish i knew who made it. I have looked all over it and no info. Go figure. Other than that i always use the better line from napa. Always had good luck with them
ike, i wanted to put the biggest batteries i could fit in my 003. after running down a group size chart i ended getting 2 group 34 batteries. i believe they were 34r.
yes i have reused the little copper one before with no problems. i might have gotten away with reusing the big copper one too if they didnt have to be removed to clean the hole where the injector goes. the big one is kinda delicate. the fiber ones though for me always seem to delaminate or get...
zeus, when you pull the injectors you will need new gaskets when you reinstall them. there are 3 gaskets per injector. you can occasionally pick them up on a big auction site.
the smaller copper nozzle gasket that goes inside the cooling fins is 0147-0243
The bigger copper gasket that...
Well if your getting no smoke and you have good fuel to the pump then it can only be two things.....the pump or the injectors. If the injectors were firing then you would see some smoke. You did check that when the stop solenoid is retracted the governor arm is infact pulling the throttle arm up...
yeah the champions are usually $15-19 each. the ones being sold for $58 are the original mil-spec wellman plugs. the wellmans are good and come with the copper washer but they dont seem any better than the champions. i have used both. wellman/dieselrx quit making those plugs. not sure if they...
here is a mcmaster part#
94397A542
same specs. only .004 bigger outside dia. i hardly think that would make a difference on that. mcmaster is really quick on shipping too.
once you really get her runnin, the best thing you can do is put it under heavy load and let it run that way for a few hours. many things get sticky from sitting. giving it a workout to get it good and hot frees alot of things up. you'll need to tackle that switch though. they are fairly basic...
yeah book, those two sources seem to be pretty reliable and reasonable for the plugs. rockauto i think only sells them in a 10pk. last i checked anyway. i dont have any washers around or i would mic one up to get the measurements. might be able to just find copper washers that will work. just a...
