Looks very good! So the filter just hangs under the top bucket and catches the oil as it leaks out? Will it stay put?
Keep us posted on your experiment and let us know your final configuration and results!

Good thinking Slayer,
I got these ordered today:
FILTER BASES:
Source: Farmers Supply
WIX 24770 (1x14 thread, no bypass)
Price: $18.64 each
FILTERS:
There are literally tons to choose from: 30, 10 on down to 3 microns, in various dimensions and some with water separators! The 1x14 thread...
I believe you are corrcet: the serial nuber is the VIN.
I say go ahead and make a submission to the 2011 VIN info thread, along with your explanation and admission of stupidity!!
I don't think Carnac will refuse to assist, but he may require your additional assistance to obtain the required...
GR, thanks. Your operating pressure is higher than I was expecting. I assume you are producing many gallons in a short time and/or you in low ambient temps???
DTOMBMG, is the pump you are reffering to the air driven piston transfer pump that was discussed in another thread? The pump I am aware...
I would think you have another option for obtaining bows and hoops besides purchasing new or manufacturing.
Our classifieds sometimes have ads by fellow members who are selling items that may fill your needs. You might also find good used pieces at some of the MV vendors.

I have been researching various threads on SS regarding filtering WMO and have not found consensus.
I know the answer depends on oil temps, system design and types of filters you are pushing through, but for those of you with gauges on your filters, please answer me these questions:
What...
Sam, that's awesome, thanks. Now I can see there are more thread choices that would probably be a better choices (1"x12 and 1"x14) than the ones I mentioned for obtaining the largest number of replacement filter candidates.
It appears that if I got filter bases with any of the 1" threads that...
Hi, goldwing,
Thanks for bearing with me. I am not pulling any chains!
I have been unable to design a satisfactory (and cheap) filtration system using the internet. I apologize if my frustration sucked you in! I thought consumerism was supposed to be easier using the internet...
shadey dave, slow down your egress back up the I95. In about 5 weeks the mother load of MV swap meets will occur in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Might be worth your time, both for parts and for making future contacts.
Otherwise there is a parts vendor I have used not too far off (1 hour) the I95...
Any chance of getting a link to an electronic copy or a good old hard copy of these?
JATONKA does not appear to have the 336-34 listed. Maybe another source?
Rick
Good question.
Back in the day, there were analog instruments made expressively for measuring dwell. You simply connected the tool, set the scale for the number of cylinders (or selected the correct multi-scale on the dial face) and ran the motor. You could (on some vehicles) adjust the points...
What he said.
If you want the parts this week then you should buy from a supplier like White Owl or Saturn Surplus.
If you are in no hurry, those parts occasionally are advertised by fellow SS members right here on this forum in the classifieds section. Look for the classified page tab at...
Hey guys, I'm not a gas powered MV expert, but I'd like to toss in another idea about old gasser trucks.
When the ignition points (or distributor bushings!) wear out, the point gap closes and the dwell can shift to the point where the spark arriving at the plugs is weak and late. It can make...
Ok great, that answers the question about replacement elements. It appears you have spent more than a few moments on their website. Does Tractor supply have a cross reference and application catalog in order to identify the part numbers of other filter brands? If so, where? I am also curious to...
