After market seats or alternate seats for HMMWV / m998 ?

The seats don't come padded. A 3" thick 16"x16" gel wheelchair cushion fits very nicely though and is pretty comfy. I'll have to make the back cushions for them and hope that I can get to it this weekend.

After market seats or alternate seats for HMMWV / m998 ?

Here you guys are going for all these cushy seats and I've taken a step backwards by going with the armored seats

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I really like that idea, I may have to do that myself......

    New paint thread (touchup) HMMWV

What MILSPRAY says could be true, or it could be clever marketing claims, but notice that nowhere in the marketing claims did it say anything about color match or anything like that. The Military has a genuine need for signature reducing products, etc. but note that colors have different or...

    New paint thread (touchup) HMMWV

The problem I've seen for touch-ups of the original paint is that the CARC is faded to such varying degrees, finding something that matches 100% all of the time isn't an easy task. The pic below is of an armored GMV door that I recently took apart. If you look through the dirt, you can see what...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I've batted around the idea in the past of painting the wheels, just never do manage myself to get around to it. While I don't think it would necessarily be "correct", it would definitely look good.

    5 passenger legal?

Ari, while I agree that there are things that certainly could be considered more "dangerous" that are done everyday, common sense doesn't necessarily clarify the correlation between two laws such as why you're required to wear a seatbelt as an occupant of a vehicle, but it's ok that there are no...

    5 passenger legal?

I agree 100% - HMMWV's can and do roll over, I would not want to be standing in that turret in the event the vehicle rolled.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

The rear shelf and toolbox are aluminum, so don't weigh that much - I installed them myself without anything special to prop anything up. The shelf was fab'd, but not by me. They were done up by contractors at Letterkenny Arsenal. The tool box is a pretty standard box for the military. The...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I finished painting the doors (Behr Ultra-Premium) on the GMV this weekend, then used my wife's vinyl printer/cutter to put all the applicable markings on the truck. I purposely used a different font (a stencil cut) for the unit markings, as if they were added after delivery. I marked the truck...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I painted my doors to match the rest of the truck this weekend and used my wife's vinyl cutter to cut out all new sticker markings for the truck. I marked it up as a A/1/5SFG truck - I have a close friend who was on ODA 511 during the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. They used GMV's...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I added a couple of cable steps to the rear of the GMV so that it's a little easier to climb in the back.

    Tub/ Turret armor for M1114

Because of the very limited demand, not a whole lot. I sold several that included the M1114 turret tray (the most expensive part of the kit) for $2k with everything you have in your pics. Since it won't fit on a standard M1025 roof without work, and the newer geared turrets aren't exactly...

Options for mounting spare in HMMWV bed

I mounted it to the bed floor and the fender wall using large washers and 3/8" bolts. It's very secure. As for location, I thought I had one saved (hence the earlier pic), but apparently don't. I have it currently mounted to the passenger side, but will be moving it soon. See, the carrier is...

Options for mounting spare in HMMWV bed

I use the Special Forces Tire carrier in mine - they're fabricated items. The pic below is an example, but mine is minted to the side of the bed.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Refinished my drivers door armor panel on the GMV this weekend - I'm very pleased with the results. Before: After: Bedliner stripped: X-Door Base: Recoating w/ Bedliner:

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I did the modification to that allows it to be used with a CB - it's worked flawlessly with it so far. I wanted to keep the "military" appearance, while still allowing for vehicle to vehicle comms when driving the trails, etc. I've got the CB tucked away so it's not readily visible and it...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

It's notched to fit in the bed at the 90 degree angle that makes the fender wall and bed floor. I had to drill holes and bolt it to the bed floor. I've also seen them bolted to the top of the fender so the tire hangs over the side as well as on the bed shelf, as in the previous picture.
