If you have everything wired up correctly and it trips the overload after a min or so, it is likely the contacts in S6 or S8 are dirty.
Buy a spray can of Deoxit D5 and thoroughly clean out those 2 switches to start with.
It will fit and payload will be fine. The loader will need longer than std forks or you should remove your tailgate for loading.
How you planning to get it out?
All true, but this requires equipment to have 3-phase motors and most residential A/Cs have single phase motors. You could swap the condensor fan easily, but the compressor is still single phase.
Newer, high SEER, A/Cs are already inverter driven. (Which is great)
18-20 kW inrush would be consistent with an older 3.5 - 4 ton A/C unit. Locked Rotor Amps (LRA) on startup would be around 80 amps and running wattage would be 4 kW-4.5 kW. That would be equivilent to a 4hp air compressor.
To put this in perspective, here is a video of a 10 kW, MEP-803a...
Do you really need 20kW for a house? Are you all electric?
A 10 kW unit will run most houses with A/C. For those with high efficiency A/C's, like me, you can run the whole house on a 5 kW unit.
You can't just say "I want the big one to run everything" because all mil sets are diesel and you...
Picked up an 802a today and asked my load out guy about the computer upgrade. He confirmed everthing that was left (in his mostly empty lot) was sold and waiting for pickup. Starting next week, his delivery guy is telling him to expect 10 truck loads PER DAY! All the equipment is backed up on...
Nice!
Can't help you with addiction problems, cause I can't see a problem.
We dont have any nice units on trailers show up around here. I would like to find a decent camo M116A3
Agreed with this statement. If the rotary converter is the limitation and not line power, a VFD to convert single phase to 3 phase makes way more sense.
Starting an 8 kW motor is too much for the 803a. It might start it, but doing it repeatedly will likely burn up something. If you can incorporate a soft starter, then you should be fine and the motor is a good load match when it's running.
I like the no-mod bracket! Very nice.
I've found the Marinco plugs are the biggest OD and therefore the tightest fit on the cap, but if you run it on and off a few times, it breaks in nicely.
Welcome to the forums Scott.
Have you read through the TM yet? There is a procedure for testing that meter that measures the current from the transducer and compares it against the machine's frequency. It would be good to verify if the meter is off because of the meter or the transducer.
Good suggestion on the pin and sleeve connectors. It would be nice to have some overhead on my plug, but I stuck with the 50amp twist lock because they are so ubiquitous on the average spider box.
It is dry here, but ironically, the front range has seen more rain this summer than I can...
