I waited 2 hours to let it set up before putting coolant back in......no leaks as of yet. I did forget to tighten down the center nut on the element (where it plugs in)...saw a drip or two, though nothing when tightened up. It has been a couple days now and I haven't noticed any coolant...
It does.......the element is replaced when changing the desiccant canister (sits in the center under the canister). Here's a picture of both removed :
The replacement part/package came with both parts, an O ring....and even a little thimble or artic grease.
Without your help, I might not of done this project......thanks again!!! Stunning "driveway" /scenery by the way. My wife still can't understand why I put all the time, $$ into putting a plow on the truck.......but in here, I'm right at home. When I'm out there on business next year...

Yes, drained about 7 1/2+ gallons and about a pint when removing the access cover. To drain, open the petcock on the lower right side of the radiator. It will take a good 15-20 minutes to empty.

It's likely the drier as the wet tank is the first to get air from it, then the protection valve. Petcock #3 has never let water out after each run (unlike my M817 which spits like Daffy Duck). I'll change the desiccant and report back.
Oh.....a side note on my heat gun: it goes up to approximately 350 degrees. Anything more (such as a blow torch or the like), I would worry about damaging the valve or the line (that would be a whole new level of "fun" while lying in the snow to work on the truck).
It worked!!! A heat gun applied to the protection valve for about 5 minutes and it did the trick. The protection valve is on the front of the wet tank just to the right (when looking back towards the drier). I plan on changing the desiccant canister (the black can in the background of the...

I'll try a heat gun at the protection valve. I use to use it for R/C modeling (when applying covering to wings)......should work for this application.
