its a 24 volt alternator single wire . GM manual had part number for it and spec. I lost all my saved info when my laptop crashed. 😞

I searched for a new 24 V alternator when I first got to LSSV. Just so that I could have a spare. I think the price I found was around $600 but there was none available. A good alternator repair shop should be able to fix the 24 V alternator you just might have to shop around to find the...

I can understand why some people would think connecting the wire to the NEG terminal doesn't feel right.

I know..lol I was up in Huntingtown, Maryland at my daughters all summer taking care of my new grandson. I've been home for a few weeks now. Heading back north around the 20th. Should be back to Florida in February. Grand-kids are special.

12 volt alternator

This is my 2005 LSSV. 24volt alternator is on the left side of engine. The wire pictured goes to the neg terminal on the drivers side battery.
