Thats where I thought it was supposed to go, but it won't reach. If I had some 5/16" hose, thats where I would have mounted it. But it'll be fine living where it is now.
And yeah, I already cleaned the rear vent hose and replaced that vent too.
also decided to repaint hubs, free/locked line was getting hard to see. better than it was
thought about repainting the wheels, but the paint on them is still solid, no rust. and the road out here would just cover them back over with dirt anyway. so just going to leave them as is. If I...
well ended up removing and cleaning both hoses. used air compressor to make sure both of them, and the hard line, were all clear. reinstalled all with new hose clamps and a new vent. original hose bolt clamp wouldn't reach anywhere that I could bolt it down. dont know where its supposed to be as...
Question... why would the front differential vent hose run up to the frame... then into a steel hard line...then on up toward rad... them back into another hose... then up to top of rad support??? this is stock is it??
I can understand wanting to keep water out if the diff if you were driving...
Finished the hubs this morning. Then got brake hoses, calipers, and pads all done. Then lubed all the grease zerks in the front end. Going to look for any other zerks under the truck later, I've done them all before... but can't remember how many there were.
Just have to bleed front brakes...
Hummm.... I fully intended to check back here this morning to see if there were any replies. completely forgot about it though. So... today I reinstalled the hub and bearings, and of course before putting in the outer bearing I used my grease gun and put quite a bit of grease in the cavity...
yeah it sucks to say the least. had a number of issues. some improved, others didn't. have to take a handful of meds every morning and night. hate taking prescription meds with all the side effects they have.
the spare tire is on the outside of the back door. But I did have cardboard down over...
Yeah, I know how to pack bearings by hand. Just didn't know how to pack more grease into the hub during assembly? I'm guessing just basically fill it before installing outer bearing and axle nuts.
Was pretty disappointed by the parts store. Like I said I'm not 100% sure, but I sure think it...
Ok.... been busy. Got the rotor turned the other day, and picked up the bearings and axle nut socket while I was there. Next day cleaned up all the hub parts, kept everything separated for each wheel back into the two trays I had everything in. Suddenly realized I'm missing an inner axle nut...
I did a lot of maintenance on the truck back when I first bought it about 12 years ago. Have put 4 radiators in it... finally I got a total aluminum radiator including the aluminum tanks. Had to adapt the threads on a few fittings, but it has worked great ever since. And I had to replace the...
sure hope so, I started out replacing the hood latch and cable... and ended up rebuilding half the truck
just what I have done since january when this all started with a hood latch:
➡ replaced hood latch and cable as hood had been hard to open, then wouldn't open at all without spending...
Ok, thanks for the input. I thought it might have been something like that. The local auto parts store only carry BCA, and they have them in stock. They couldn't even order the Timken for some reason.
I have been pitching and catching lately, and just this evening got the truck back into my...
at 40mph, I bet it would pull pretty violently.
can the combination/proportioning valve be taken off and cleaned out, Without having to completely readjust it? Or is it not adjustable like the rear proportioning valve is?
Yeah, I clicked the adjusters a few times to make sure they worked smoothly.
I've decided to order calipers and everything this morning. Would rather do the job once and get the truck back to full working order. I'll need to haul some stuff soon, so I need to get this done. Still have to fix...
I agree, and the right hub being warm seems to show something is up there. And yes I certainly don't want to need to stop fast and not have full braking power. Just one of the reasons I wanted to go through everything after the rear wheel seal failed and I found how the parking brake pieces had...
Yep, I backed up and stopped multiple times when I first drove it down the dirt road here. Then I would drive a ways and brake slow a few times, then hard a few times. Then repeated backing up and stopping a few times.
I went by the diagrams in TM's. Everything looked right, and the "stop lever" that only allows the adjuster gear go one direction seems right. Hope I got it right at least. Here is the drivers side when I got it done, obviously the passengers side is "reverse" but still has the parking brake...
