This is currently on the DRMO side just sitting. I was told IF it transferred over to GL it would be as Mutilation Required unless it was bought by a verifiable museum. Parts would be allowed to be removed but the tub would have to be shredded for anyone else.
I purchased a "color coded" wiring harness from Sid Beck before he passed away and am just getting to the point of installing it. In the interim 2 years I appear to have lost the sheet that outlined what colors went to what items. Anyone have a copy of this? I tried the g741 site but it...
923 just sold at Ft Hood for $2120 plus fees. Cheaper than deuces now and a whole lot cheaper than 1009s have been going for. Too bad my money is tied up in a M1010.
Anyone real familiar with working on these?
I have one that is showing an error code 6 which is "ER06 indicates a faulty vent valve assembly" I tried going through the TM to remedy the problem but one of the things you have to do is take the check valve off and then cycle through refilling...
Read the TM and it's advising replacement of the wiring harness!
The issue is all lights working except the brake lights but when brakes applied the tail lights go out (still no brake lights).
I checked the bulbs first then I checked the continuity - fine. Power to the socket, plug, etc...
Loaded up and ready to roll to the Museum of the American GI in College Station, TX. The Open House and Armor Re-enactment is this weekend as well as a pretty good Swap Meet for this part of the country.
It doesn't seem to matter how hard I try to pack neatly it still looks like the Beverly...
I pulled out the wrenchs and started working on the MKT this afternoon. At some point I'd like to "restore" it, at least clean up and paint what's rusted and faded, but right now it's more important just to get the bits and pieces back to a "working configuration.
The first thing that needed...
I was asked to get information on this bracket. The owner thought it was a WWII water can bracket but all the water cans I can locate were the normal "jerry can" style but with a "W" instead of a "G" stamped in them. Could this have been to hold one of the collapsable water buckets?
I have a M101 and a M116A1 gen set trailer. I'm thinking about swapping the axles so I can have surge brakes and GM bolt pattern wheels. I don't forsee needing to tow the genset any where but I'm thinking of taking the 101 on the MVPA ALCAN Convoy next year. If I'm pulling it behind my M1010...
Picked up a cheap (for good reason) MKT out of Ft Sam in Dec. The EUC cleared yesterday so I wanted to pick it up in time to play with it a little this weekend.
Both tires were flat and the lug nuts were pretty much frozen in place. I had tried to change the tires the day Westy and Gimpy...
I was contacted by a gentlemen searching for V100s (2 to be exact) for a movie that is going in to production the first of next year in New Orleans. I told him I'd put it out to the community and pass along any information that I could.
If anyone is interested please PM me. I have no idea...
I'm planning on putting one of the 600 gal fuel pods from a TPU in a M105A3 and was wondering if the pumping unit can be modified (basically taken apart and just the pump and 1 hose reel saved) to fit in the back as well. I don't want the entire thing due to the weight and only need 1 hose...
I've got 2 M105A3s sitting at Hooks, TX. I'm willing to give one up to anyone that can get the other one to me. The "free" one has racks and I believe bows but is missing the lunette. I've got to get them moved before Aug 13 so anyone interested needs to jump fast.
TexAndy is trying to get a 5 ton medium wrecker set to be towed on Monday and he just called me from the storage yard.
It appears that the middle axle housing drain plug is missing so he can't fill the axle with gear oil before moving it. The only info from the -20p that I could find is that...
Not sure if anyone here was bidding on this but thought it went kind of high seeing as it was missing half of the inside of the ambulance box (and the rear door latch - minor item).
I suppose someone may have been confused since they listed it as a 1994 instead of 1984 and thinks they got a...
After replacing the low pressure line and charging my A/C system I got air conditioning for about 15 minutes before the compressor locked up. I charged it with a product called DuraCool that is supposed to be R12 and R134a compatible and wonder if that might have been the cause.
Does anyone...
