The name is pretty straight forward, but what happens when its disconnected...?
I'm asking because I want to install an A2 engine harness before I have the 4l80 in.
The main difference between the A2 and A1/A0 harness is the trans kick down solenoid. So if it were disconnected would the 3l80...
Fuel gauge read fine for a couple months.
One week ago, ran over big pothole, fuel gauge read a 1/4 less than it should (still read accurately despite being in the wrong place)
Today. Low on fuel, around a 1/4 (real reading), go to refuel. Check gauge after filling, shows 1/2 tank.
Same...
Looking at brake modulation techniques and one of them was to apply full brake and rev the engine up to max torque rpm. I heard with the torsens and really extreme off road conditions this works really great. Although hard on the transmission and brakes, what about stalling the engine in this...
Looks like, as usual, no auto shop will touch the humvee.
So I'll be doing the swap myself. Hummer knowledge base has concise instructions. Even though they don't mention anything about bleeding the system afterwards to replacing the gaskets...
The unbolting and bolting seems pretty straight...
I am installing a DB2831 5149 on my 6.2 and I have run into a problem with the fan cut out switch. I have the bracket but I can't find where it mounts. None of the mounting holes on the pump fit the bracket...
And the cut out switch doesn't seem to mount underneath the TPS because the slot that...
So turns out my internal harness for my 4l80 is flooded and needs to be replaced .
Hummerpartsguy has one but is charging 200 for it, practically highway robbery.
Amazon and other retailers have a similar looking harness that says it's for a 4l80e transmission and only for $50!!!
Can anyone...
I am creating an adapter from my existing 3l80 cooling fittings to the newer swivel 4l80e fittings. I have everything but a female fitting for the 3l80.
4l80 fittings were easy to find since they are really common, but does anyone know where to get female fittings for the 3l80 cooling lines.
So I have a soft top and x-doors and the frag 5 door seals. It all seems to work pretty well, no rain gets in through the top, and most of the time rain doesn't come through the gaps but sound does.
I had the am tech hard top for a while and the extra space on that allowed the door to seal on...
If anyone is annoyed at the amount the x doors vibrate, shake, and create noise, boy do I have a solution for you.
My Backstory:
So when I first got my humvee, I took it off-roading after a couple of weeks of getting things in order. It was very fun, but the main downside was the sheer noise...
Two Questions:
-Any tips to get the lower A frame bolt out and turned around?
-There are two wire leads coming off the winch solenoid itself. In the diagrams I have it only shows one wire coming from the circuit breaker, which comes from the winch controller plug. Where is the other wire and...
So today I was driving home with between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank left, then a minute later I look back and see it has dropped to below a 1/4 tank (this was all on a flat road with no acceleration/stopping).
I thought this was weird so I went to a gas station to top it off. Filled it up, 15 gallons...
Anybody know where to get a full pinout of body the a2 body harness and engine harness? There's a couple documents with the numbered wire leads and such but limited to connections regarding the 4l80.
Just wanted to make sure that the camber on my front wheels was normal, any thoughts to why it looks like it has a more-than-normal load on it? (Had my vehicle weighed, curb weight is 5800lbs, I have the supp door armor and aluminum armored grill)
I WAS under the impression that a AIRTEX 5S5080 or a BWD EC3003 would fit a 6.2l IP but all the sites that I am going to are saying its only for the 6.5l.
What is the truth here? and if its not for the 6.2l, are there ANY TPS's that fits the IP on a 6.2l?
I'm looking for a trailer in the $300-800 range, I live in seattle so I'm looking for something that I can drive to pick up. I'd be using it to transport a s250 shelter and I am looking for something that has everything intact and working.

I thought those brackets were for tie downs? Any one out there also use them as self recovery (for those non-winch users)?
They seem like they would be a pretty simple way to include a self recovery system without the added system of an...
What are the pros and cons of each engine? I'm specifically talking about the predator conversions that they offer.
Lets hear some arguments for each side!
So I installed the alternator driven tachometer on my 60 amp a couple of months ago and then a couple weeks ago I upgrade to the 200 amp. Tach has been working great before the 200 amp.
As far as I can see the tachometer works fine and reads correctly between 0 and 2900 rpm. But as soon as I go...
So old diesels are known for not having those modern emission control devices installed on them, so I was wondering if anyone had hooked up a stock 6.2l to a emissions test and see what the results are. Of course the new diesels would have pretty high particulate emissions if the fuel wasn't...
