M35A2 or M35A3? Pro's and Cons of each

Driving a truck this size, on the highway, I don't see it as unsafe. Just stick to the right lane. I've put about 3k hwy miles on mine. I like to do 60 as that's the truck speed limit in my area and I don't like to feel like I'm holding people up unnecessarily. I've never had my truck very...

Looking for the specific difference between "Split Rings" and "Split Rims/Widowmaker"

Is your shop a commercial truck tire place? I've found more of the commercial truck tire places will work with Deuce wheels than places that deal with mostly cars. For instance, and you might have these chains near you: Les Schwab won't touch them, but GCR will.

    How to unload an M35A2

But once the truck got to rolling down hill, wouldn't it have cleared the ramps like it did in the video?

Deuce belt driven power steering complete

How do you have so much space between the air compressor pulley and the radiator??? I want to mount an A/C compressor and can't figure out where I can squeeze it in. I have 2 alternators on the other side.

    Power Steering GPM

For what it's worth, I would be less concerned about DOT and more concerned about insurance and/or jail time.

Best M35 year and model ?

I'm a little late to the thread, but if you haven't made a solid decision yet, I would ask what you hope to do with your truck? For instance, I have and plan to travel extensively with mine, so good fuel mileage was important. Even among the A2's there are differences. The C vs D turbo's...

    Where to sell a M35A3?

Funny, that's why I bought my A2. I've just thought of a way to kill 2 birds with one stone. Take that truck off your buddy's hands. You would get some use out of your $15 and if, in 6 mo. you decide it's just not for you, then you sell it. Have you driven it? Go on...

Need help Identifying this Deuce and a Half

I don't know your area of the country, but you might also contact some veteran organizations/military museums. If you don't need the money, you would certainly get a tax write-off as long as they're a listed charity. I donated my stock tires to a local military museum that's located on a...

removable add ons for hunting season..

I know what you mean, I'm working on a 10x10 camper, and the wood stove I got is way too big (8" x 10" x 17"), but, then I'll be able to boil a pot of water on it, and more importantly it's the smallest wood stove I could find that draws air from outside. It's also kind of nice to bank the...

removable add ons for hunting season..

I like the wood stove, though, you might consider something over the wood just as a safety measure. A piece of steel, brick tiles, etc.

    6 to 10 hole adapter

Custom made wheels are steel and legally only rated for off road or farm use, if this matters to you. One issue with military wheels is some tire places won't touch them, again if this matters to you. A tire place that mostly does commercial will probably touch them, something to keep in mind...

    HMMWV dome light in cab

I know some people have done this, can you tell me what kind of light it gives you? Can you read by it, find stuff on the floor, etc? Are you satisfied with it, etc.? This is the light, I'm talking about:

Deuce Billet Dual Fuel Filter Assembly

Not the same guy, but I recently found this during a search. Not as intricate as the one in this thread, but it shares some similar ideas.

    Sound Insulation

Update: The cab and is fully Dynamat'd, every surface. Also the firewall in the engine. Soundproof Cow's Quiet Barrier has been placed on every vertical surface in the cab, as well as the ceiling. The doors have Dynamat in the lower portion, that you can access under the panel. Previously, I...

Fuel tank selector valve - multiple tanks

I contacted a company that does custom valves that they have a solution for me. My plan is for each tank to maintain a separate line. The plan is to install a lift pump after the valve before the IP pump so whichever tank is active will be pulled by the pump. As to cost, it's $650 for the...

Another stupid idea, ignore this thread.

I'm not offended. It just seems some people aren't actually reading my posts before they respond to them. I had written out a long response, but if people aren't reading my posts then it seemed pointless. More than one person has thought this thread is about the issue with the single circuit...

Another stupid idea, ignore this thread.

Yeah, looking for tanks, they don't always list "working pressure" or "burst pressure". I'm looking at the Haldex 19820 or 19821. Some sellers list 150 as the burst, but Haldex makes them and lists 150 as the working pressure. I figure some sellers just don't have a very detailed description form.

Another stupid idea, ignore this thread.

The stock tanks are rated to 250psi. Is this military engineering overkill or is there a reason they need to be so high? Looking around for tanks, I see 150psi is pretty common, 200psi is less common. My solution to driving through smoke is to wear a full face mask with filters.
