    Deuce-LMTV Size Comparison

I recall reading, somewhere, about someone that had gotten a HEMTT at auction, and later bought a non-running one for parts. He towed the 2nd one with the first, that'd be something to see going down the highway.

    Deuce-LMTV Size Comparison

I'd love to have HEMTT myself, but I don't have a place to put one atm. When I was shopping for a truck I decided to go for the M35 for the fuel mileage and you don't need a CDL (at least in my state) to drive one. If the military starts auctioning HEMTT's again though, I might find the space.

    Collapsible/temporary passenger seat

So, it's not that I'm anti-social, but my passenger seat is probably empty 99% of the time. Ok, maybe I'm a little anti-social. Has anyone ever heard of/seen a temporary vehicle seat? Something that can be broken down and stored away or collapses in some way - function over comfort. I will...

    M35A3 dual fuel tank setup

Mostly. Batteries are around 7.5" tall with posts. They'll be resting on a rubber pad, with sides and the top free. When I spoke to the fabricator for the tank he said he thought he could make a fuel cell 7" high, if it needs to be taller, then the sub-floor will be taller. The water tanks...

    Help Identifying wheel

Well, if you're not in a hurry, I'm working on a project to replace my wheels at which time my wheels and their adapter plates will be available. To be honest, I don't know that I'll be selling the plates to break up the set. I have spare wheels though.

    M35A3 dual fuel tank setup

My plan is to put a custom built camper in the bed with a 9" sub floor. This sub floor will contain a lot of mechanicals for the camper including a custom built fuel cell. It might be too unwieldy to have a single tank so I've been thinking 2 will be easier to install. The tank pictured a few...

    m35 fuel pump

If you this route, Gas Buddy .com used to have a way to list stations that had pumps w/out ethanol. I haven't used Gas Buddy for some years so I don't know if they still list it separately, but there are likely other sites out there that do.

    Help Identifying wheel

It may be off an M1076 trailer. I have 6 wheels like that. They are also 10r20 wheels and the offset is very close to center, but I think it's actually around 25. I have some for sale, though, atm not with adapter plates. The standard mrap adapter plate that you find on evilbay works.

    M35A3 dual fuel tank setup

My second tank isn't fully hooked up. I'm actually waiting to install my 3rd and maybe 4th tank and do them all at once. My plans are to keep them all separate from each other. This gives me the option of using different fuels also, if one tank gets holed (or that fuel line does) chances are...

Crew Cab, single rear Axle M35A2s.... Who has built one? Who makes GOOD ones?

To my memory every thread I've seen on an extended cab has been done by that OP. If you want to hire someone to do it, I'd expect it'd cost at least $10k, and probably closer to $20k.

Custom wheels - Problem, questions, help.

I would prefer to stay with at least a 44" tire which is why I'm looking at 24.5 wheels. I also want to stay with a wheel that fits a somewhat common commercially available tire. The 22.5 x 6.75 tires range up to 39" or 40" diameter tire.

Custom wheels - Problem, questions, help.

Finally found a good source, nearby for retreads, a plant about 60 miles away. However, I started thinking about the weight. Custom made 22.5 x 13 steel wheels are gonna weigh A LOT (there is no one in the US that makes an aluminum wheel that size as a blank and/or with 6 hole and wheels from...

Custom wheels - Problem, questions, help.

Well, custom made wheels are not cheap. If you're not looking at super singles, there are still a few options out there. I have seen 22.5 wheels that are 7.5" and 6.75" wide. The 7.5" were made by Accuride, but are no longer part of their catalog so they can be hard to find. If affordable is...

Custom wheels - Problem, questions, help.

I looked at going back to dualies, but decided to stick with super singles. One thing I came across in research is SS have less rolling resistance than dualies - better fuel mileage. As I'm outfitting this truck for long trips, that plays a role. Was also concerned about how dual tires do off...

My 1971 Am General m109a3 RV build

I got a 5lb carbon dioxide extinguisher. A carbon dioxide extinguisher is designed for electrical/fuel fires, what I figured I'd likely get from the engine. Also, carbon dioxide will evaporate and if you intend to salvage the engine this is the way to go. The downside are they're so much more...

I went back and bought the truck

The only reason I didn't buy a M36 is I couldn't fit in the driveway with another one of my cars. I really need more land...I want HEMTT
