I was headed to the DMV of all places to renew my license which was to expire that day. Truck started up perfectly as usual, then I went to put it in drive and I heard the lovely sound of a screw making its way down the inside of the stearing column and the shift indicator failing to move. Panic...
Some one posted this a while ago but I lost the link to the poster.
Default CUCV Fuse Box Layout
There are some errors in the TM diagram for the CUCV fusebox.
I will attempt to point them out as I find them
Here is a "clean" fuse box with all the proper fuses and labels...
I also need the data for the bleed screws on the air pack which is listed as such:
PAOZZ 2530-294-6747 SCREW,BLEEDER: BODY ASSEMBLY EA 2 * * * * 108 2
AND CYLINDER CAP
7376729(19207)
I don't think they are the same size as the brake cylinders.
Thanks for any help!
Here is the entry from the TM:
2530-274-4510 SCREW,MACHINE: BLEEDER A EA 1 * * * * 107 4
7409322(19207)
I want to put speed bleeders on my truck.
Thanks for any help!
Found this substitute for the gromet and it seems to fit reasonably well. from McMaster-carr
You may be able to get them cheaper elsewhere, but at least you have the specs here. It is not an exact match but I could not finf an exact match out on the web,

I need to extract a glow plug on my M1008.
A while ago I did something stupid. I was changing out my glow plugs and became disoriented and instead of
unscrewing the glow plug I ended up overtightening it
to the point where the top portion snaped off.
I will be extracting it and I wanted to...
Hi All, I am looking for detail drawings of the
M1008 body. In particular, the passenger side
rear bottom corner.
I have a couple of holes within inches of that corner
and I suspect some cancer in the bottom of the corner
starting soon.
I will be patching the holes soon, but before that I...
I have an M1008 as well as two other MVs so I want
to be able to jump my other MVs with my CUCV and visa versa.
I also like the idea of feeding my glow plugs from the 12 volt bus to avoid possible problems with cascade.
My idea is to use a single pole double throw knife switch to switch...
Is any one familiar with these epoxy systems? I bought a bunch of stuff a while back
from a contractor who was going out of business. One of the items was a hand held
dual cartridge gun used with the Simpson epoxy system for imbeding rebar and threaded
rod into existing concrete.
My question is...
I am asking this question because I see new folks
saying they have been going 75 mph for 60 miles on the freeway. This is fine for a typical car nowadays,
but I am under the impression that that speed puts you over the rpm limit.
I would hate to see new members put in a lot of work on there...
Preserving some info on an old, but interesting system.

A long time ago I rescued this truck from the scraper.
I put some money and time into it to where I could get
it registered in California as a historical vehicle.
Essentially I rewired it with a harness I got for another truck and used new connectors, etc. Replaced a lot of parts.
I replaced...
This is for the M1008
Could someone pleas help me figure out what to
do or point me to the right part of the TM that deals with this.
I just lightly tap on the brakes and I end up burning
rubber. This is at very slow speeds. Less than 5 mph.
Once it is running for a while it clears up a...
Just an FYI. In a former life I did a lot of wiring and
one of the products I came accross was this shrink
tubing that had adheasive inside. The product
is made by 3M and I can vouch for this stuff.
Besides the obvious use for wiring, it can be used to do things like insulate the shank of a...
I am desperately trying to get my XM211 out of storage
and home so I don't have to scrap her.
I got her running again and she runs just fine, but the batteries are in bad shape. If I slave start her and then
pull the slave connection she dies..
I am trying to figure out if it is just the bad...
