Man, that sucks. I guess a ride over to Memphis to look at it before they shipped it might have been a good idea. For that kind of $, they should be sending a mechanic to fix all the problems. I don't care if they send the parts, you are not the one that should be putting them on.

Re-read my post. The passenger side alternator doesn't have to work to operate the truck, you just have to have a good rear battery for starting. And you did say you had a spare alternator for the driver side. Maybe I missed something.

You only need the drivers side alternator to operate the vehicle short term. The passenger alternator charges the rear battery which is only used for starting. No big deal if it doesn't work. I ran mine for weeks like that. Just put a battery charger on it every few days.

As stated above, take a copy of the statute(s) with you. I don't expect the officer to know every law on the books. They all have a computer in their vehicle and they can look up the statute number themselves. In my experience, they say "I didn't know that" and "have a nice day".

Don't know if FL has a restricted CDL. My M915 is the first tractor with an automatic transmission that I have driven. Everything else has been a Eaton/Fuller of one kind or another.
The automatic is much nicer in stop and go traffic though.
There is a dust cover on the backing plate that covers the shoes. Remove this and you can see the shoes from the back. You may find the wedge actuator is stuck. I had one stick on my M929. That will mean pulling that hub/brake drum to get to the brake parts. It's not hard to do and it's all in...
