    Got a "new" and tight XJ shaft swapped in. Now my steering is back to being tight. Also added a hanger at the end of my exhaust to stop it from banging into the body on rough bumps.

    You would have terrible turbo lag as well as an imbalance of the engine. I had a slow spooling turbo with an exhaust leak on my crossover. I couldn't imagine half of the engine trying to spool it. A crossover really isn't that difficult to make/fab/adapt. I used an aftermarket 6.5 crossover...

    I mounted a single gauge cup on left side of the column where the turn signal stalk comes out. It houses my boost gauge but could hold any gauge....

    If you're going to boil a thermostat, put it in cold with a thermometer so you can monitor what temp it opens up.

    I'd check the outer U joints. They can bind pretty badly when very worn/seized.

    So my 14 bolt hub seal which I had recently replaced a few months ago was leaking again. After some research and logic I looked at parts for newer trucks after seeing mention of newer ford Dana 60's using a seal that rode on itself instead of the spindle. A 2001 Chevy 3500 uses the same style...
