When we got the new house built, we paid the extra money and got the electrician to wire in the generator panel. Cost $1,200 (included the panel, wiring and labor) but in the end we were very happy with what we got. It is up to code (good for insurance reasons) and it well setup. It is a manual...
I have corrected a few errors for military equipment that was posted on wikipedia. Including a few things that made zero sense. But it never ends. That's why I take everything I find on wikipedia with a grain of salt.
Great looking trailer. Wish we had one of these.
Is too bad it doesn't have a connection for a swingfire heater. That makes quick work of heating up any water. Our water buffalo tank has a connection for the heater as well as fold-down taps.
But your unit is still really nice. Will go great...
Yeah the shipping would be way too high. There was actually someone who wanted it from us (the severely wrapped griddle) and wanted it shipped down to SC I believe, but the shipping cost was extremely high. Naturally he didn't want it anymore after learning the price. The guy was missing...
Those grease splash guards are pretty rare. They might as well be plated in gold. We have a spare set we got out of the MKT we stripped just in case we loose a set out of the other units. Sadly the griddle in the stripped MKT was extremely warped. No idea how they warped it that bad (one side...
I was already jealous for wallew for getting one, now this makes me even more jealous
Looks good. A new coat of paint and she will be even better,
Going to give her a fresh coat of tan, or going OD?
Welcome to the MKT club! SGSC-G4 is our unofficial president. He knows his MKT stuff!
We have two MKT-90's and parts from a third one we took apart. They are fun stuff to use and show.
As for the grease catch, they are sort of hit and miss. Sometimes they work well, and other times they do...
I don't have a schematic, but we installed a 3-way switch setup in the M109. It lets us turn on/off the exterior lights we mounted all around the box. One switch is on the dash and the other is in the box. Not very difficult, but you have to run a couple more wires to make it work.
Works the...
M1008 are generally worth more than M1009's as they are more in demand as work trucks. Both are good trucks though.
But if you have an M1009 and someone is willing to trade you an M1008 for it, I think that is a very good deal (as long as it is in good shape).
We have pretty much every variant...
LMC Trucks sells new manufactured dash pads (if you don't want just a new cap, but a actual new full dash pad) for $340 in black: LMC Truck Parts - Page 111
I wish I could afford the new dash pad, but will have to stick with the cheaper cap for $100
They also sell the color-bond spray paint if...

I have never seen one that was in good shape that came out of a junk yard. But is worth a try if you hard up for money.
Yup you will pretty much have to take a lock off and bring it to the locksmith to get a key matched. There are many different key codes for these trucks. Is what we did for our M1031. We were out the door with a couple of keys in 10mins.
Great info. Glad to see stuff like this posted.
Question: For those of us who don't have a professional load bank to connect up to our generators, what do you recommend that we use to put some sort of load? An old timer once told me to connect up some large heater units to put a load on it, but...
