Yeah, those are for the two man cargo top bows. The long ones are for the rear bow. There are upper ones that are just the loop. The lower ones have the welded washer. The lowers are all left or right handed. I think there are 6 different styles in the kit of 16 retainers
I was talking about if you broke a hook and didn't have a good one to replace it, you cant just use the bare strap to tie through the body loop as a field expedient
If you insist on running that switch, you need to hack those tabs off.
They are there to space the lever type switch back further in the dash because it will be too close to the turn signal lever if it isn't. The push button switch is significantly shorter from its mounting plane to the top...
Who ever designed these things was a psychopath.
Hard to use new. Need two hands to loosen when soiled. Break easily. It has more modes of failure than moving parts....which is quite an accomplishment in itself. And the strap is usually to wide to go through the stupid "thing" on the body and...
There is a drain bolt on the bottom of the fuel tank. Drain out the old fuel and add at least 15 gallons of fresh fuel.
I recommend replacing the fuel filters at this time too. At a minimum do the secondary(fine) filter. The water separator is a plastic bowl under the primary(coarse) filter...
On air brakes, the parking brake applies with strong springs in one of the sets of diaphragms the rear.
When the engine is running and there is air built up in the system, when you "release" the parking brake with that yellow knob it actually uses air to over ride that spring and allow the...
My luverne brush guard came with cables that attached to the hood grille and held the guard upright when closed. When you opened the hood, the brush guard lowered itself as the hood tilted forward.
I think they were repurposed from a slantback rear hatch.
No rattles and super convenient.
Besides the obvious NSN, and rebuild/paint date, Does anyone know the significance of the other markings?
And, what would have been changed under the blacked out spots?
P000 ?
C/C-E- ?
PRES. ?
WR ?
Yes. Especially the ones that are all plastic. Brought to you by the lowest bidder...at the insistence of you the taxpayer.
Im assuming you are talking about these POS things...
Im thinking of the common round can style with the two prongs at 90 degrees from one another. They usually just plug into a plastic fuse block that offers no grounding. Its just a thermal switch in the power line.
I surmise that the mil unit needs a ground for its solid state circuitry to...
Great info guys.
All the lighting on the LMTV is 12v
I had been searching by the part number off the old unit.
That unit from erics may do the trick. Interestingly he shows the pinout info.
Pin A= Flasher output
Pin B= power input
Pin C= ground
Before I buy it, Im going to try to connect...
Does anyone have a source for a replacement flasher unit ?
Part number 12418344
Out of an M1088A1
The few that popped up searching that number are out of stock
