Fitz: Yup, all set with higher taxation only to be told that I can no longer have certain freedoms that we are suppose to have by being US citizens
CGarbee: Thank you!
What do you do for work? I would try to attend but being I just dropped $300 in fuel to come down here, another $400 for...
NH and ME are awesome! I spent the last ten years of my life living there and if it weren't for a new job opportunity I'd still be kicking it in New England. All of this with exception to Massachusetts. That communist state can burn!
The Mainship is powered with a single Perkins turbo diesel...
I've always stuck with OEM Spicer greasable joints because they last the longest and are typically strongest for not much more money but could never source them locally except for Robins or Federated parts store. Even then they are never in stock.
Nope
The 79 Mainship 34 weighs about 15,000 pounds. The 6.2 had a hard enough time with itself coming down. Realistically, any man only needs what is in that photo...a boat, an MV, and maybe a small arsenal or firearms :D
All moved in to an apartment, not a big fan but need to live a simple life while taking a new job with a start up company. This will be permanent as long as the company grows. Eventually I would like to bring my boat down and live on the water again. Until then my Cuck Vee is parked in a swarm...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?103497-Documented-Curt-14082-Receiver-Hitch-install-on-my-M1031
The Curt hitch did require some modifications but I did not have to cut the bumper up. It was more like trim a couple of rivet heads and shackle tubes.
I know someone sells an aftermarket in line air filter.
I would probably go hunting in a junkyard first for an OEM one. Ford and I think BMW used a lot of cylindrical ait filter housings.
When it comes to higher education, it seems to be hit or miss with instructors. Has nothing to do with age, background, experience, etc. You either get some real geniuses or garage drop outs. I've met some really talented instructors in my day but also some dubs that shouldn't be working with...
I really have no planned route other than to stay out of NYC. If I venture into PA and run inland instead of I95, I know I have to fight mountains instead of traffic. If I run mid day through that neck of the woods, I will go I84 and throughout NJ. I'm really game for anything.
What is your...
I will be packing up my M1031 and going from Portsmouth, NH to Wilmington, NC the third week of August for new employment. If anyone is going to be on a seacoast route southbound (no NYC, F the GW tolls) I would be more than happy to convoy. I plan to be cruising between 55-65 mph but can keep...
Since the response to the OP has been modified to accommodate users with low self esteem and we as a forum basically bitch slapped him, told him his TM searching sucks, then said he is welcome and have a nice day...unacceptable in my opinion. That is not representing the forum I want to be a...
It only explodes the starter, melts any associated wiring, and leaves you stranded when the relay fails...not a big deal. Not like the ignition key shuts off killing you ;)
Its a known problem and if you haven't fixed it immediately upon purchase you are either "driving a grenade with the pin...
I think if someone asks about a repair procedure, a troubleshooting guide, or an oil specification the TM would be one of the first places to visit before posting a question. This would be addressing the million "my gen light is on" questions. I don't think in my opinion the OP was out of line...
Nice ride!
I really like how the 101 beds look on these trucks. It reminds me of the very trapezoidal fenders on the Jeep Pickups (non-M715 variants). Makes me want to go find one and build it. Thanks a lot :)
I can never figure out how people think this system is complicated. It's like two seperate charging systems wired in series. It is no more difficult to troubleshoot than a standard 12v system except there duplicate pieces. Not only does it have a lot of power ability but if alternator one dies...
Sounds like your idle speed is being set because the throttle cable won't fully retract. There should be a throttle stop screw which sets idle speed. At full rest position (idling), the cable should have a bit of slack in it.
My M1031 used to idle so low that the Gen lights would glow. I bumped...
