If there is a problem in the axles, you could fry them by just pulling the drive shafts and letting the axles drive the differentials. If you pull the drive axles on the rear and caps on the front, nothing in the drive train will turn and you may save yourself an expensive lesson.

The transmission needs to be at operating temperature or it will read low.

Pressurize the tank and see where the fuel leaks from. 20-30 PSI will do the trick. I think about 5 psi will be better unless you are trying to make the tank round. It doesn't take much to show the leaks.

+2 or more on a needle scaler. If it's heavy rust and you have good access, the scaler will remove it. Not for thin metal, but I've had good luck using lower pressure.
