Thank you! As I suspected,
I do not want a 200a. It’s too big, I use little amperage for my LED lights, then it’s the blower motor and fuel pump, gauges. I don’t think you could run a simpler system. 3 speed. No electrical add ons other than a license plate light which is LED. Plus less stress...
I’ve concluded there’s no adjustments. Seems like straight hook ups. I cleaned the contacts, but here’s my main issue……half way home it started working normally…..wtf.
it’s it’s a sign of the alt failing I’ll just order one.
Was putting that other disaster hmmwv back together today, and had driven mine over.
went to go home, turned on my lights, all LED, all proper and correct. As I went to drive they flickered rapidly and went out. So I stop and they came back. Idling the volt gauge was in green but any rpm above...
Yes he took photos when he got the truck so I could see the red cables location. I was called in when he failed to extract the Broken alt mount bolts and it needed a cylinder head.
Replaced the head and everything but the final steps are items I didn't take apart, and suspected incorrect parts.
I will try to get the data off the alternator. Thank you, I assume that the smaller cable will end up on the dual voltage regulator.
Sources for that part?
Good news on the trans light at least.
I have a lot of the TMs, but it doesnt necessarily answer questions when the wrong parts are...
I’m not worried about WTS Lamp or trans light until I sort out the alt.
They also send the truck missing the hydraulic lines for fan and the nose of the fan clutch is missing lol
I am finishing a job for a local guy, He bought this truck from a notoriously bad importer. It came off the trailer all messed up. Alt bracket broke off the head, and several other issues.
I’ve got it back ready to start. But his batteries were dead.
Anyways, my hmmwv is old, 60a alt, V belt ...
It’s a military pump.
I guess I’m taking two bolts out of the bracket to pivot it. Man, they went so far forward with the hmmwv for its time, but Alt and P/S dept dropped the ball,
I am working on a guys hmmwv for him. He local and couldn’t find a shop to do it. I have been a diesel tech for 20 years.
His alt bracket had broken off, and he pulled it out on his own with the steering attached. But I reinstalled it without the pump so I could ensure proper mating and torque...
Man, sorry to bump the thread but I’m in the same boat on a friends truck. I have thermostat housing and hose off. But I can not get the pump down and into the mount. The return hose spigots on the back just don’t give me enough room.
Did you take the bracket for the two idler pulleys off?
His...
Ok. That’s for the input guys. Worst case I swap it back I guess.
The thought that they ran them in the desert had occurred to me, but they also give no f&$@s about money, or ruining a truck, etc and I do. Lol
Guys,
I think I know the answer but I’ll see if anyone will tell me anything else.
I have the regular grille on my hood, but bought an armoured version.
will this drive up engine temps? In the summer here it’s hot and humid, and I run to 220, fan on down to 205ish, and repeat depending on...
So if I mount the spare tire carrier over the mudflap hanger as it shows in all the images, I assume I use washers on the other side, there’s a small gap between bumper and tire carrier base?
Thanks guys.
Looking at putting the thicker glass windshields in my truck.
There was a set for sale of the 5/8 or 3/4” glass with the thicker retainers. Before I bought, he offered to test fit them in a 998. They do not fit into the lower built in retainer for the bottom of the glass. And up top there’s a...
What if you want to go the other way?
mount the ballistic 3/4” glass in a regular window frame? What needs to be changed for the bottom? The top and centre are obvious.
Thanks!
