I absolutely hated NATOPS. It was ok for a reference but sifting through it to answer questions on the open book, PITA. MCI courses weren’t too bad. I took three courses and aced all three. Still have my NATOPS and my checklist. IIRC NA-01-230HMA- something I no longer remember. I can still do a...
Hopefully they have something like that near Cheyenne. Back when I was still in the service, I needed to get my A&P license. I had to take three multiple guess tests and the oral and then practical tests. It took about a month and a half or so to do everything . It was really expensive though...
I’m in the early stages of learning about radios. I’ve got a bunch of test equipment and power sources that may help my journey, once I figure out how they work. I’ve also got a bunch of electronic parts, which I need to figure out how to use to repair broken radios.
My end goal is to have...
Over the years I’ve acquired some PRC 10 radios. Two are in backpack configuration and one is set up for use in a vehicle. I put together a bench to try and test each one with the plan to incorporate them into my War Wagon a replica gun truck from the Vietnam War. I picked up one of the home...
Waaay back in the 80’s and 90’s when I was stationed in Iceland in an Air Force Rescue Squadron, the flight line truck was a beat up “six pack” Dodges or Chevy’s. The PJ’s had some serious rigs! Everything on the trucks that could be upgraded was upgraded with the best that Uncle Sugar could...
Where did those rifle racks come from? I once bought a bunch of military parts back a few years and I have at least one of those upper clips. Nice to know what it’s used for.
The books are available on line. They are not digital to the best of my knowledge. I’ll try and remember what I did with my copies. If I can find them, I’ll see if your truck is in there.
TM 9-2320-211-34P appears to be the AF and Army tech manual for the M246, M246A1 and 246A2. This TM covers what may be considered as depot level parts. Stuff that doesn’t normally get crunched or gets too crunched can be found there.
TM 9-2320-211-20P covers more routine parts that are always...
It appears you have an ex-Air Force crash recovery truck. It looks real nice for such an old feller.
One of these days I have got to finish up my M52A2…
I did some poking around the web and came across a possible problem area. There should be approximately 43+/- a pound or two PSI at the fuel rail. Also changing out the fuel pressure switch could be a culprit. My personal method of fixing is to find the least expensive issue and work from there.
Might try changing out the filter. It sounds like there’s an obstruction in fuel delivery, specifically the filter is backed up. How often do you drive your truck?
