Lifer's real face =)
Many people have asked to see what my father really looked like, so as a result I changed his avatar and posted a picture of him. This photo was taken in May of this year so it is fairly recent. Thank you all for the love and support at this time, it is great to know what...
Thank you to everyone for their support in our time of sorrow. My father was a good man and will be missed by many people far and wide all over the world.
I am very sad to inform you all that my father Charles D Briggs Jr. (aka Lifer) passed away today 7-13-2011 at 4:20 am. I wanted to let you all know since he has gotten pretty close to numerous people on here. He is now in a better place and his pain and suffering have finally ended. For those...
Despite the "mix and match" situation, I'd be proud to own your 151. Now, where was the last pic in your original post taken and did you take it yourself? If so, I don't envy you the ride! That looks like some seriously heavy weather ahead!!
That's not a problem here! I did nearly 30 years in the AF, but couldn't pass a factory physical to save my butt! If you got classified 4-F, at least you tried, and nobody can fault you for that!
Well...it really is a sweet looking brush truck and probably suits your needs better, but I kinda wish you had restored it as an ambulance. They're hard to find and getting harder, whereas any truck can be converted to a brush truck. Just my opinion, of course, and you know what they say about...
Well, 319 beat me to it. For what it's worth, I really was an English teacher, so I know something whereof I speak.
The incorrectly spelled orange words should be "extremely," "English," "world-wide." "forum," "There's," and "grammar" respectively.
The blue "where" would be more correctly...
And a hearty welcome from me, asw well, lad! Next time you nip off the pub, have a McEwans Tartan for me, eh? When in Ireland, a pint of Guinness would be welcome or, if that's too dear, a half would do.
I'll go along with everyone who said "leave it the way it is." As hard as it may be for you young guys to believe, oil filters are a relatively new concept. When I was a kid, most cars and ALL trucks were unfiltered. (Power windows, A/C and stereo systems were unheard of but a radio was...
Here's another option. Paint it chrome yellow with "TONKA" lettered on the back. Surely, the HOA couldn't take offense at a toy truck. If they do, just point out that bigger boys need bigger toys.
I think the problem is with the way they're posted.. If it says "attached thumbnails," you can click on them for bigger pics. If it says "attached images," clicking on them will do nothing. They'll stay the same size...tiny.
That "Ham Car" is a rolling invitation for grand theft auto! Leave it unattended in any major city, and you'd find that there had been a big boom in the used electronics business.
As far as the previously mentioned "talking skip" goes, CB was restricted in both output power and transmission...
I saw one yesterday that has been, though. One of the rural carriers out of the Dewy Rose, GA post office has one that he bought as surplus and then painted 3-color NATO camo. I like it! :)
A lot of my family members used to work for the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy (CB&Q), which then went on to become Burlington Northern (BN) and ultimately the BNSF. Our translation of BNSF is Bigger Name, Same Freakin railroad.
WHOA! The gas pedal is between the clutch and brake! I'll bet that takes some getting used to! I could adapt, though, as long as the cab could accommodate my nearly 7 foot body. :)
