I totally agree. Many of the sections we already have are not "busy," but the members who use them are glad they're there. Your idea has merit, not only for European MV owners but for Americans who are planning to visit Europe for other purposes or who are working there.
You got a lift kit under that CUCV, or are you just short? I can change the plugs on a gasser deuce with my feet flat on the ground, so it's hard for me to understand why you'd be standing on a bucket.
The M35s I drove in ther service had the air tanks "buried" behind the spare tire on the driver's side. I'm tall enough that I could just squat down and reach under the spare to drain my tanks, but most of my troops had to lie down and crawl partway underneath to do it.
The ones I've seen...
Anyone who has ever served in the armed forces knows that they would be FUBAR without acronyms! In your case you'd better get familiar with them ASAP or you'll be in deep kimchee*.
* That's another thing GIs are famous for...snippets of other languages tossed into normal everyday...
Cool! Something like that would probably be very popular in the USA, too. I think someone was trying to get such an operation off the ground, but ran into "insurmountable" obstacles such as liability insurance (a biggie), protests from various "tree-hugger" groups, protests from local...
The X means that it's an experimental model undergoing evaluation. Usually, the X prefix is dropped when evaluations have been completed and recommended changes made. For example, the XM720 mobilizers we were using back in 1980/81 are now M720 mobilizers. Other "X" model stuff never got past...
The tracks would be great for hauling heavy stuff (like bombs, torpedos, ammo boxes, etc) across dry sand. It would speread the weight over a much larger surface area than you'd have with tires!
Nice. A word or two of caution, though. Standing up in the bed of the truck is not the safest thing your young man could be doing. Also, using the top bow as a hand rail will soon spring it to the point that your top will not fit just right.
Then you should have followed the rules.
That doesn't make what you did any less disrespectful.
Yes, there are and I refuse to buy or wear them When I see them on display in a store, I also "mention" the flag code to the store manager who usually either pretends he/she doesn't know what I'm...
According to your ID block on the left of your post, you already have 23 posts in the forum, so you should be good to go as far as the classifieds go. :)
2nd gear/low range/hand throttle is the combo I've always used in parades. I've never had a problem, but I always have both feet ready to stab their respective pedals while the truck is in motion, just in case. That said, I'm glad to see that more and more parade organizers/communities are...
Awwww! Judging by your avatar, I'd have thought the Air Force would be more your cup of tea. Guess not, huh? :(
Oh, well. I got a lot of respect for the USMC, too.
I can understand the pilot's reluctance to appear in the mess, Stan. Those boys can be vicious once you give 'em a bone to chew on.
I'm surprised that the Canadian Forces called it a "crash." The USAF has never suffered a "crash." We have had any number of "uncontrolled contacts with...
I hate to disagree with you but the cab is not "way too tall." Not everyone is less than 6' too, you know. Us 7-footers like to have a little head room when we drive! ;)
Congrats on the recovery. I'm sure you wrote a good paper. As a teacher, I always advised students to "write about what you know." If you've done it, you're the "expert," and writing about it becomes easy. Creative Writing can be much more challenging, though.
