Wondering if anyone on here has ever run regular truck tires on the 20” steel mrap rims. Looking at putting a set on my super duty with hub adapters obviously but not sure if I can run a standard E load range 37 on heavy duty rim. I figured if anyone would know it would be this group.
Thanks
Matt
Hey Augi,
id be interested in one for a Vic-1 or if you would send me a parts list/ schematic that would be even better I love making my own pcbs or I would but a diy kit if you’d be interested in doing that.
Thank you Sir
Yes they used insulation on the left side only (the exhaust side) and on the right the fuel tank kinda acted as a thermal barrier. They do make NSN 2540-01-560-3945 but it is for the M11XX series so to work with the old style seat bases you will have to cut it down basically as a mirror image of...
In case anyone is interested this was my solution for replacing the foam. was cheap, local, and worked pretty good. I went to harbor freight and bought the cheap ear muffs like 3 something a pair and pulled the foam from them. There is two pieces so i put one under the speaker and the other was...
First off sorry for all the new threads here lately, new to the comm gear if ya'll couldn't tell. I got a new set of headsets but the foam that holds the speakers is deteriorated. Has anyone found a good source for replacing the foam? like from a different civi headset or bulk foam or something...
Hi All just starting to build my vic-1 system. Purchased my AM-1780 but need pretty much everything else including cable. Looking to set up a 2 man but eventually probably 4 . Does anyone have good sources for components? Crew Stations (C-2298, C-10456, or C-2297), power cable (CX-4720)...
Love that Stoner radio but seems like its an expensive unicorn. Did not realize the SEM-35 was FM that was just a quick google search. I thought about trying to make a gutted case with a cb internals. I was just reading on Radio nerds about integrating the AM-1780 into a civi radio with some...
Does anyone know of any military radios that will broadcast on "CB" frequencies (26.965-27.405) i believe the german SEM-35 would work but any easier radios to find? looking to run a "military" looking radio in my hmmwv that can work as a CB
Iv'e heard the term 30 at 30 (30 miles at 30mph) But I don' think I would trust that. When it's on the run flat it is basically flat but enough to keep the rim off the ground and keep the bead locked.
I do kinda want to stick to the "authentic" tires. I don't want to mod with different rim sizes and what not I like the military look. Yeah I worked at Sam's club years back and was able to go to an off road driving course put on by Michelin and BFGoodrich they have been affiliated for some time...
Thank you for the information on the sidewall. I kind of thought the same thing even on these MT's because I punctured the sidewall and It seamed kinda thin to me. Probably good flex when aired down but how puncture resistant. The MT/R is supposed to have dura wall puncture resistant technology...
Yeah I haven't had much trouble even with the worn standard MT so they're probably great new but are the others better? I know the MT/R your talking about but its a bit different than the military one. Here's pic's of the military tread pattern just for information purposes...
Ok so I finally got to test out my run flats not by choice. I'm trying to decide what tires to go with as I do go to a lot of off road events. Which tire do you all with experience suggest. The Bfg Baja t/a the Goodyear MTR or just the Regular Radial MT?
Very true lol not really sure where my logic was there. Do you know what holds the shaft in? I see that it's splined into the carrier guess I'll find out when I tear into it.
All four of my differential output seals are leaking and I need to replace them. There seems to be play in the output shaft also when I wiggle the CV shafts so I assume that the bearing are also bad. My question is has anyone replaced these bearings and can they be replaced with out removing the...
I was Dying at this so I had to Share with everyone... Might only be on the A2 though not sure.
