I always try to share, good or bad. Someone will learn from it. I feel like I know a lot about these, but this one for sure got me.
The parts are for sure going to help others & get me my funds back.... not my time though!
So, been a while since I updated with this thread!
After messing with it on & off in-between the 100 other things I have going on, it died. The engine blew. Here is what my conclution was.
Ever so slightly, I think the head gasket was blown & the rings were weak. During my last attempt to run...
I'm no longer offering the CTIS Wheel Valve Rebuild kit. I will be offering what I have left of the o-ring & seal washers until they are sold out & then they will no longer available either.
Got a good, proper dual band antenna on the LMTV. May need to re-think it with the high. Swapped the radio with a different one that had better installed features that I wanted but turns out, it has an issue I need to remedy. VIC-3 system installed. Need to neaten it up before it's 100%.
I'm not an expert, but the only reason it needs to have a full loop is in case there is an issue. I recently hooked up a VIC-3 Lite in my LMTV & it is not looped.
I have no experience with the M151, but in other military vehicles, no one communications setup install is like the next. When you get a guide, it's more of a general thing, with general areas on where to run wires & such. Mounts fit where they fit. And if you need to, drill a hole to make it...
This truck came from your state. Was in the Maine National Guard & was rebuilt there in 2012. Didn't realize that when I looked at it but saw the stickers when I got it home the other day.
The 4 speed is needed down here with the distances & highway speeds. Our highways are 70-85mph speed...
Problem is solved!
So, a burnt up TCM will have the TRANS light stay on.
TCM was toast. I'm going to guess at what happened & explain below.
12v lead was hooked up incorrectly to the batteries for the TCM. The relay behind the seat became fused in the closed position or already was. Saying...
So this thread isn't left dead, I did decide to get it as I got it for a good deal. Picking it up tomorrow & I got a brand new TCM on the way. Also got myself the proper testing tool to use. I'm pretty confident that it is just the TCM as it had been completely taken apart. I will follow up with...
I knew it was valves! It very well could have been you adjust them, and when you tightened, they moved. VERY easy to do that on these. Trust me, I know... makes you realize how stubborn these little engines are to just run even when they shouldn't.
Yes, there are thermal switches for the fans...
I think it's fuel. Diesel likes to migrate UP CARC from some reason.
I read all three pages.... it will only leak after it has been run & then has sat?
Turn the machine to run & let the fuel pump run for 15 minuets or so. Best to do this with your dye. This will expose any leak at all on the...
Has this been adjusted? There should be a wire with lead on it to show if it's been tampered with. Would need to be cut if so. The example picture here shows it WITHOUT the wire.
Again, sorry if I repeated myself. I follow a bunch of threads & also have 3 different things going myself, but know the feeling when you just can't something.
I keep thinking it is a valve issue. The reason being, is these little engines are savages, and will attempt to run is the worst...
I would have sold you a known good injection pump for $30. Yanmar. Hope you got a good deal.
Forgive me if some of this has been suggested, but gears are turning...
The low pressure side getting air would make it starve for fuel. I have run them with a hose pressed on & air definitely getting...
