No actual unit info but the unit code was WAP6F0 but the unit shut down and no information is available to say what unit it was. Here's what I do have:
Nomenclature:TRUCK CARGO 2-1/2T Model:M35A1 NSN:2320005425633
Serial Number:M57279 Registration Number:4E0811 Year of Mfg:1962
Info date is an error out code from 2005. Actually surprised it is still in the system.
I am trying to get the original markings for this vehicle so I may paint vehicle to original specs as used by the Army....
I would like to thank all for any information avalible
OK, I sit here baffled as can be about what you are trying to accomplish with the info provided above. I guess you blew 2 hours of your life coming up with basically nothing. The info is general info about the M35A2 series truck.
X40009 is not some experimental code. It is the Line Item Number (LIN) for the 2.5 ton cargo truck without winch.
If your truck is missing the dataplate, then you need to find the number on the frame. The number you did find is not an Army serial number. It maybe a frame build number or something else but not a serial number.
Your truck is an M35A1 series truck that may have been brought to M35A2 standards. M35A1's usually have the serial number on the passenger side wheel well frame but there are exceptions. A2's on the driver side wheel well.
As for duchess truck info, I'm not sure why you would be confused about someone elses truck information? He had the frame number and got the information available.
