Hello, I picked up my deuce at Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio

According to the data plate it was an m109a3 shop truck but now it has a cargo bed making it an m35a2

The serial number preceded by HH8014 is (012522732)
The NSN is 2320000771636
Contract number DA20113AMC03416
LOC# AOF011652A1
The bumper numbers are illegible (painted over).
There is a sticker on the windshield that says
III Corps Ft Hood
Brake test

That's about all I could find.

looking for year of mfg for my new deuce. it came from IL NG 3637th Maint. GSA has it titled as 1988 with a vin of 00022526543 AM General M35A2.
they had two other titles screwed up for me and this one looks suspect. I'm thinking early 70's any idea's?
they also say it's an 8 cyl but we al know better.
looking to have it home late next week after MC replacement and bleeding.

First I would make them straighten this truck out before you end up with a mess of your own unless your state makes it easy to correct titles.

The VIN is for an M792 not an M35A2.

Second, I would trust nothing on this truck unless you are physically pulling the VIN from the frame rail. Don't trust the data plate in the cab.

Third, unless it was significantly cheaper than others than can be had, I'd personally walk away.

I have already bought the truck. nice looking rig ,well cared for. I will take pics and record all data and frame numbers on Monday and come back here with the correct data. they have been easy to work with at GSA and this should be no problem to work out. I just need a little evidence.

Perfect example of why you never trust the dash data plate.
