Just let me know.I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with that slick and fancy 5 ton! Great looking truck by the way. if no one is heading down through indy saturday morning I may take you up on that offer sir.
I am headed out Thursday morning it looks like. My route is not set yet. It is either out 275/74 or out SR73 to Oxford and out the scenic way.
Rob, we should meet up in oxford and DAN you should convoy with us.
Sparky, sounds good to me but I won't be able to leave till Friday morning. The new job I picked up I'm working odd hrs, 3pm-5am Monday throu Friday but I only could manage to get Friday off.Dan,
If you head out Thursday morning I can join you. Oxford is a bit out of the way but hooking up with sparky and rebelcummins in Brookville would be nice.
I live not far from donnerwetter58 and will be heading out Friday, unless I decide to leave Thursday right after work. The after work thing would put me on the road about 18:00 hrs.Let me know if anyone wants to join my convoy.... FYI, I have only been there once.... I forget how to get there... Lol..
ok, I won't be getting off work till 0400 or 0500 Friday morning anyway so if you do want to leave on Thursday that's fine no biggy.I live not far from donnerwetter58 and will be heading out Friday, unless I decide to leave Thursday right after work. Friday morning has no set time at the moment.
what about using stxsix's crane to lift them in to the truck? just thinking out loud...Hey rebelcummins... got some bad news for ya. bring your groin sling with you to haspin (PG-13 remember).... your going to need it to load all 28 tires in the back of your truck... were sleeping in the truck again this fall and at least I got our 3 oldest kids helping me load them... if you were coming on Thursday, we can back the truck together and roll them right in....
Sure if Xtsix is up for it but they're not on rims, just tires... the tires are about 30lbs each. Not bad to lift but 28.... he's going to have to take intervals....what about using stxsix's crane to lift them in to the truck? just thinking out loud...
Hmmmmm.... I might be able to grab one or pick one up at harbor freight.... what size you thinkin'...? I am going to be bringing 6 spare deuce dog bones... you 5 ton guys just need to be alittle careful....what about using stxsix's crane to lift them in to the truck? just thinking out loud...
Yep, I was there. Gimp used a fire hose twisted to draw it into place, right?I have a high lift Jack. Last time it took a westycucv and my truck to play tug o war on a 5 ton to get it back to together.
augiedoggy;1419805 Will someone have a welder? Another thought said:Hey Dan... Xtsix should be bringing his welder again and if you talk to TMAmerica, I think he's in the process of producing dog bone keepers....
Pm sent back.rebelcummins - sent you a PM
No biggy for me, I won't be able to show up till Friday morning so if you throw them off ill reload them in my truck when I get there.Sure if Xtsix is up for it but they're not on rims, just tires... the tires are about 30lbs each. Not bad to lift but 28.... he's going to have to take intervals....
ill bring some stuff, don't worry I have a 13,200 LB welder too.So I was thinkin', separated dog bones are pretty common, and field repairs needed. We twist and contort
our old trucks over whoopty whoos and stress them to the max.
Thankfully, someone brings a welder and a bar is welded on to retain the bad bushing.
The hardest part seems to be getting the separated bushing back together.
So my thought is a truck ratcheting load binder to press the separated bushing back into place.
Does anybody have one of those they could bring to the rally? Gungearz? Rebelcummins?
Anyone have any other ideas to press them back on?
