Mark your calendars! The annual Texas MV Rally will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 to Sunday, March 24, 2024. We are making a few changes this year and will camp at a new location. We'll still convoy to the Living History event at the Museum of the American G.I. that Saturday.
Everyone is welcome (with or without a MV).
Camping:
This year we will camp in a field off FM 974 in Bryan, Texas.
The location is 1.6 miles north of Texas 21 on FM 974. Look for the Steel Soldiers banner on the west side of FM 974. This location is near Aggieland Safari.
You can arrive any time after 14:00 on Friday, March 22.
We will dry camp in a field. Plan for and bring all of your meals and camping supplies, except for lunch on Saturday which you can buy at the museum. There will be a water hose and porta potties at the camp site. We will not have a bath house this year. Also, make sure to take all of your supplies and trash when you leave.
There is a flat fee of $30 per family. This fee applies whether you choose to stay one night or both nights. Please bring cash and pay Lincoln (@nofearnohope).
Convoy and Museum of the American G.I.:
We'll get up Saturday morning, March 23, for a convoy to the Museum of the American G.I. (Museum’s website: https://americangimuseum.org/). It is just over 30 miles from our new campsite to the museum. The convoy will be longer this year and may last 45-60 minutes each way. We typically have a police escort for the convoy. At the museum, we’ll line our trucks up for display and enjoy the annual Living History event. We'll convoy back to the campsite mid-afternoon.
Saturday afternoon at the campsite is a great time to hang-out with friends (new and old)! There's usually a bonfire Saturday night and a few tall tales. Everyone departs for home Sunday morning.
Buy / Sell / Trade:
I'll start a buy, sell or trade thread for the rally.
You may bring anything to the campsite that you want to sell or trade. Feel free to post in the Buy/Sell/Trade thread ahead of time. However, please note, that you must be a registered vendor to sell items at the museum. If that's something you want to do, contact the museum directly ahead of time to register. Otherwise, keep these activities at the campsite.
Everyone is welcome (with or without a MV).
