Did you experience a lot of sway while hauling with the uhaul trailer? I am concerned that I won't be able to travel at highway speeds without sway. Was yours a 2 door or 4 door with a soft top of hard top?

Mine is a M1097A2 2 door pickup with an empty bed. I own a trailer that is similar to a uhaul trailer.

I appreciate any information that you can share

Thanks
While not exactly the case, I can give a little feedback. I towed my M1038 (it was a 2 man truck setup then) with a towbar and a crew cab 4x4 1500. I did not use the interstate, only back roads. Now that said, weight wise, I did not exceed the towing capacity. Was it fun? No, not at all. It pushed and pulled and taxed the brakes of the 1500 the entire time. Even one time causing the trucks to jack knife when I had to make a very hard right turn at a light. That was just at sub 55mph speeds. I know flat towing isn't the same a trailering. But that would also increase the towed weight.

No way I'd do it again. And I was "smart" enough to not even attempt highway/interstate speeds.

All of that said, I'd see no problem with trailering it on a equipment trailer or gooseneck. And with at a minimum 3/4 or 1 ton truck.

FWIW, I've towed all sorts of stupid loads. Even illegal ones. Many here have seen it first hand. I do try to plan out these activities ahead of time and I leave a ton of room ahead of me at all times. Not saying that makes it safe/legal. Just saying that when I'm hard pressed in hauling options, I will minimize what risk I can.

Now TOBASH, he has the right to find the answers he is looking for.

As for me I am absolutely and certifiably crazy and I would not haul a single HMMWV any distance. (I did haul my JD350 dozer 2 miles a few months ago on my 7500LB lowboy trailer behind the ol ladies F150 but that is different as the shop was about to be locked down by the soon to be ex wife and I only had a few minutes before the sheriff got there...)
OK so I digress, sorry

I am absolutely and certifiably crazy and I would not haul a single HMMWV any distance with nothing less than a 1 ton dually and a 12000lb gooseneck trailer, anything less and it would be like driving a three speed 75MPH,, somethings going to happen :ROFLMAO:
The answer he is looking for is an at-a-boy saying what he is doing is OK and such. The answer he is looking for is will he be swaying (unsafe).

The answers he got is “NOT SAFE”. No matter how a phrases it, his answers were “NOT SAFE”.

Look at Patracy. He pulled a unit with just a bar, and says it was unsafe.

Sorry Mog but I don’t feel safe with this guy on the highway

Saw this thread, as I had just bought a 20ft trailer for moving some vehicles around.
I've yet to actually tow the M1123 with it, just loaded it to see how things went.

That being said, I've got a dually F-550, or my semi truck to actually pull my bigger loads.
When I picked up the M1123, I used an SRW F350, with a 24ft trailer.
The tow vehicle was fine. But, I remember the trailer swaying at 60mph+(I am not a fan of larger fold down ramp trailers)

That is my experience so far and I have moved a few vehicles in my time.
I bought the semi truck, purely because I have towed fairly heavy and like to have a secure tow vehicle.

Interesting how that triple axle was converted to be able to haul over the pin.

Interesting how that triple axle was converted to be able to haul over the pin.
The guy a bought it from was running a Ram 5500, using the 5th wheel kingpin, without the bed.
All I did was adjust the height of the kingpin, to get it as level as I could.
The semi truck has airbags and dump valves, so I wasn't too worried about being able to get under it.

I just needed a trailer that would haul at least 2 cars around and this is how I ended up.

Thanks for the feedback!
KS backroads, HMMWV on the heavy towbar behind the Gladiator.

I've done literally tens of thousand of miles of flat towing 6x6 military trucks.

Like @patracy I've done some questionable towing. But that's when there weren't better options readily available.

The M1079 behind the redtruck probably qualifies as "questionable at best".

The thing is , you have an F350 and a nice heavy trailer. Why consider using anything else?

Blow a tire on that light trailer and damage your new-to-you HMMWV, and you'll kick yourself...
