I want to restore my bridge plate on the M1008, what should they show? The top plate is for a trailer if I remember, I need that designation also.

or you can get a field expedient number by using 85% of the vehicle gross weight.
For our purposes here, the CUCV series is (fortunately) listed, the numbers are for empty, then loaded cross country, highway and combination -

Alot of people incorrectly believe this. The manual will explain how it is computed. Weight is only a part of it.The numbers should read your total weight in thousands.
To paint the numbers on the plate permanently? You could easily get the factory number set that allows you to change the displayed value.Thanks guys I will get some stencils.
