DFW M923 mechanic needed

Would appreciate a recommendation for a M923 mechanic or shop in Dallas area. First need is for slow air leaks in brake system.

Air it up and get out the spray bottle with soapy water. Why pay someone for possibly an easy fix. How slow is the leak?

When I shut the engine off and the pressure in both systems is 110 psi, after 15 minutes one has dropped to 90 psi and the other has dropped to 65.

I have found a few leaks leaks with a soapy spray bottle but am afraid I'd do more damage than good if I tried to fix it (I'm a retired business guy having a blast with my first mechanical adventure).

Also, I was thinking it might make sense to have a relationship with a shop as bigger issues arise.

Only way to learn is to dive in.
Read all you can, including old threads.
Good typical set of tools is needed.
Build tool set as you go and as you realize what you need, add to it.

Start small (air leak is a good start) build your experience and confidence as you go.
Do your own oil changes and so on.
Read and follow the TMs. Very important
Tons of info and part numbers.

You will get to know your truck as you go.
Its a big truck with lots of parts, but tackle one thing at a time and don't rush.

I agree with finding a shop, but they will drain your wallet if you use them for everything.

Back in March, someone was looking for a mechanic in Arlington. You could reach out to this guy and see if he found a mechanic/shop.

Tinstar - You are spot on about the knowledge in the site, and I'll tackle the air leaks. Still want to find a shop/guy - I dropped over $4k on a transfer case with the best big shop in Dallas - I just need something more reasonable for new issues with "Miss Piggy".

There is one in the colony off 121 that I am going to check out. He seems like he is willing to fix anything. Makes me happy and scared at the same time. These machines aren't that difficult once you start tracing lines, and learning what wire, hose, whatever goes wherever and does whichever.

I need a knowledgable guy who has worked on the 8.3 and won't charge $250/hr at the same time.

Anyone else know know someone around here that could help?
