It's been a long time working up to them but I finally got these monster AT3As mounted on the MV of the year! Luckily I bought the whole package right after Christmas before tire prices went crazy and I've been slowly working on them since January 28...
I chased every thread on all 7 rims by hand, shot blasted the wheels, painted them, replaced valve stem seals & o-rings and matched them up to tires.

Once all the wheels were mounted, torqued, antifreeze added, and pumped up to 10 psi i was ready to do the swap.

I drove up on blocks so that I would only have to pump the jacks up 1" instead of 6"

I was more than happy to let the forklift do all the heavy lifting and handling 😁

That was a good solid 7 hours of work with 2 guys plus set up and cleanup but it went smooth without any problems. I ended up with 2-piece HEMTTs on the front, 5-ton super singles on the rear, plus another one with a 90% spare tire. The truck definitely looks more macho and menacing than before!

Your rig is great! Let us know how the turbo handles the extra rubber! Looks so Cool! I hope you get many a mile out of your work.

So far, and I've only driven it 6 miles, I haven't noticed any loss of power feeling but I do have to use the brake pedal harder when coming to a stop. I'll be logging more miles on it soon and will report back.

Sorry to leave you behind with stock tires, but I am keeping my stock rims and tires just in case I get the itch to go back to duals with 12.00R20 tires when I'm older. I would have loved to go with 14.00-20 bridge truck NDTs and duals if width weren't a concern...

Dude, that Ford pickup truck was my first "adult" vehicle that I ever owned after I left home.
Cool! That's my '75 Highboy that I've had since I was 17 and I love that truck! They're bad-ass. That truck's been getting jealous of all the TLC that the 5 ton has been getting the last few years and it's time to show it some love.

The only drawback to running those on a 5-ton is one has to wear really loose fitting trousers to make that 1st step into the cab...o_O

True...maybe I should trade my pants for a tacti-kilt or something. I'm so used to the stock height that that last step keeps catching me by surprise when I'm stepping off the truck and end up going further than I expect.
