MsMog I am going from 90 to 59 to Jeff Davis (CSM Davis) house in Hattisburg, on the 18th then leaving from there daybreak on 19th to rally, also in box cleaned up!

Glad to know you knuckle draggers can offer me up like chopped liver, but I will gladly play pivot point for a little wheel and deal. And Amphibious who now lives in Vermont did have 3-4 down in Gulfport when I was working with him. So I know a little bit about them but hate working or riding on them as my 6'8" frame doesn't fit.
He will be in Hattiesburg but I will be coming back thru to Hattiesburg from the Rally and then headed north to Memphis. If You and marty make a deal he can leave them at CSMDavis' and ill bring em up to Jackson.

Thanks for being so accomodating, CSM Davis. So were there any FLU419's down at Shelby or at the Seabee base on the MS Gulf Coast? I've never seen any pop up for auction anywhere in the state of Mississippi, other than 1 unit about a year ago at a state agency. It sold for about $30k!

Yeah 30 is going price on open market and there are several at Shelby in perfect condition but don't plan on seeing them anytime soon.

Welcome to the addiction! Jump in with both feet, I like that.

I've got to get some new rubber as well, preferably the widest that I can fit while keeping most of my turning radius. I like mud. I do not like riding bulls however, so it's getting toward the top of my to do list.

I already have a SEE and a HMMH, but someone could prolly talk me into buying one of those Pettibone cranes without too much trouble... cool! I've not seen one of those before.

I read that there were only like a dozen trachers made. And I've seen numbers between 300 - 600 on the Mogs with the crane and forks. How many were ordered by the mitary with the front end loader and back hoe? How many more do we think the government has left to auction?
MOG 2 should arrive tomorrow!
I recall reading that there were 2,800 FLU419s made, and 290 FLU10344s.

What I didn't remember was to recommend that you PM me for Cody's phone number when you need a SEE shipped. He brought my latest shipment and is familiar with the vehicles and has lots of experience with transporting military stuff, including for the military.
On top of that he's very nice and helpful, and drives a Pete longnose. Can't beat that.
By dealing with Cody directly, you can save on the listing and broker fees.

That a very valuable offer to refer a shipper, I had a heck of time getting pricing on having my rig shipped up from Texas, it almost torpedoed the deal with the seller. It sure sounds like the brokers make the majority of the money. U ship appears to be a scam. I would be tempted to pick up another at auction if I could find a reliable shipper that knows how to load them and is willing to drive north. This one would get stripped and turned back into 406 with a bed.

Uship isnt a scam it is just that they charge a 17 percent fee on what the bid is or whatever the offer price is. On a 1700$ bid i only get around 1450. It hurts. Why the bids are higher sometimes. Especially for one thing.

I put my 3 on Uship for $1500 total, to move them from Montgomery, Aabama, to Jackson, MS. It's 240 miles 1 way. I paid another 7.5% to Uship, so it cost me $1612.99 total to have all 3 moved. I guess I paid about $2.23/loaded mile (after the 7.5%). Maybe I could have done it for less, but it was quick and easy and painless. David Kelly with Pine Meadow Transportation out of Watumpka, AL, hauled them for me, 1 by 1, on a 40' gooseneck. David moves a lot of tractors, but he has hailed a fair amount of military vehicles. I would highly recommend him. In hindsight, maybe I should have set the price lower on Uship, but $535 apiece sounded good to me. Live and learn. #3 arrived today. 2008 rebuild. All the tools. Got a tire of the rim and some brake issues. Otherwise, everything looks good.

Those mirrors look like regular GM tripod and camper mirrors to me. Maybe not OE, but the cheaper aftermarket ones.
You should be able to find those at NAPA, or just about any auto parts store.
I'm busily replacing the passenger side ones with something more useful, but that's because I'm fond of backing into precarious places.

Forgive my ignorance, General, but what is a bridge plate for?
There's probably a disaster story or two behind the practice of mounting bridge plates on vehicles, but If there are any I don't know them. You know, kind of like how all of a sudden having enough life boats for everybody became real important only AFTER the Titanic sunk.

Since my comment about the mirrors, I talked to Scott at EI. He has some MRAP mirrors that he said will fit for only $25 apiece. He said they are a little bigger, but "lots of people are doing it".

After cleaning out the cab, I found the bridge plate box and the letter plate and (2) sets of numbers. This stuff was in the truck painted NATO green, so I wonder if it spent some time overseas. Thanks for the link, General.

I don't think that those plates and numbers are called bridge plates, but you find them on most any military vehicle. EDIT: My bad, they are indeed called bridge plates.
Be that as it may, I would be very interested in buying what appears to be a narrow bucket seen in the background. If you aren't going to use it, that is.
With too many projects going on as it is, buying a bucket seems so appealing compared to cutting a 24-incher down.
Please PM me if you are interested in sharing some of what is the most "equipped" SEEs I've ever seen/heard of.
