Found an S-280 for the project!
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Let me know if you find the tie down kit that goes with the LMTV. They make one just for tying down the S-280. Looks like maybe it would bolt in the center of the bed where the center support post normally goes?Found an S-280 for the project!
I am not sure I will have to look into this.Let me know if you find the tie down kit that goes with the LMTV. They make one just for tying down the S-280. Looks like maybe it would bolt in the center of the bed where the center support post normally goes?
The only kit I have found online is this link.Let me know if you find the tie down kit that goes with the LMTV. They make one just for tying down the S-280. Looks like maybe it would bolt in the center of the bed where the center support post normally goes?
This is similar to what my pop used with campers we owned that would leak a little from roofthanks for the heads up. What do you recommend?
Looks like maybe those are brackets that attach to the top corners of the shelter? The two top corners on each side tie down to the center of the bed on the same side; the cables make a V configuration. There must be a piece that goes into the middle stake pocket on each side for the turnbuckle assemblies to attach to.The only kit I have found online is this link.

Good luck with the install. I'm guessing you'll be able to feel it in the truck too. I had a friend put a S250 in a M101 and he said it felt like towing a parachuteWeight is just under 1500lbs and it rides fine on the trailer. I could tell the difference when the air was hitting the front vs following a semi.
I know exactly what you mean. When I pulled out from behind the semi to try and slingshot, I lost all momentum. Not much you can do unless you have better aerodynamics on top of the roof to help direct the wind over the shelter once its mounted.Good luck with the install.
