Fuel Pod on a M105a2

I have the m105, and I am looking to mount this fuel pod on it.

Looking though the forums I read it has been done before, but the current pods I am looking to pick up are 500 gallon low profiles.

I can’t seem to find a TM on them, and I am not sure if the will fit.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Full it would overload the 105.

A gallon of diesel weighs about 7.1 pounds * 500 and you have 3550 pounds of fuel plus tank weight.

It doesn't overload it by much (relatively) and I doubt the 105 would be stressing THAT bad with it (not considering the effects on the suspension long term) but it isn't marshmallows that you would be hauling.

I drove in an old milk truck that did not have enough baffles in the tanks.
I got sea sick from the sloshing at stop lights.

If not that would make for a bad day if it was 3/4 full.

Looked inside, and they are baffled. I figured about 350 gallons+tank should keep me in capacity.

I'm more concerned about the physical fit.

It should fit. We had the same setup in Iraq in 1991. We also put dual tires on the trailer so it would not flip going through the sand.

I have a 600 gallon pod in my 105A3. The widest portion is above the rail line but even if it weren't it would still fit between the sides as long as it was centered. Unfortunately I have no idea how much wider the low profile tanks are.

My tank is baffled but I have no intention of driving down the road with it. It's only purpose is for fuel storage around the property and so I can move it easily when it's carrying fuel. Since I paid more for the tank than I did the trailer I thought it a fair compromise.

Any on have the inside bed dimensions for the 105A2 handy, I cant get enough info out of the TM.

My unit is not available for me to measure.

Milk tanks are all non-baffled these days. (FDA requirements for being able to clean them) If you don't ease into a stop they will easily something produce enough surge to push the rig. If your lucky the first time it happens it only scares the &^%$ out of you.

The (2) tanks that were for auction @ Gov/Liq here in AZ went for $1500.00 per Tank!
To me, and Looking back at past bids, that was crazy. Someone really wanted them.

Needles to say I'm tank-less for now.

That is crazy. I got 2 tanks and a pumping unit for $900. I sold one tank for $500 and scrapped the aluminum "A" frame from the pumping unit for another $300 so basically have $100 plus recovery in my tank.

My sister's husband drove a milk tanker for a while, trading off with his brother, four days off, four days on. His brother stopped at a railroad crossing one day, the partial load of milk sloshed forward and shoved him right into the side of a train. Nobody was hurt, and the truck wasn't badly damaged. They got out of the milk business soon after that.

There probably isn't a TM on just the tank as it's a component of a system called a Tank and Pump Unit, or "TPU". I searched all the TPU -10 TM's and couldn't find a NSN match for a component tank with your NSN. Not uncommon as sometimes items from different manufacturers have different NSN's. The closest I found was in TM 10-4930-236-13&P. Looks like your tank. Enjoy.
