Fuel pump

Hey guys are the in tank fuel pumps still available for the m 135 series of trucks ? My frame mounted electric is putting out too much pressure and causing flooding issues . Thanks

You might look into an inline fuel pressure regulator. I have one on an old bobcat because it would push fuel past the float. Got mine at oriellys. Has a dial adjustent to set the pressure.

The 302 military engine had no provision for a fuel pump. It is in the tank. I believe it runs 3-4 psi. I run inline pumps now without issues. I run 6-8 just because that is what the gauge in my regulator says. It may not be very accurate. Get the iinline regulature with a gauge that reads in the 3-4 psi range. Some don't go that low.

My bad. I thought it was the same as my M211 engine.

I have a "REO Diamond" . So it is suppose to have the GM 303 engine ?

I just installed one of these in my 89 f450 diesel .. facet posiflow 60303..it works great. A small solid state pump good for diesel or gas and is self priming to 12'. This one makes 5-7 psi so may be on the high side but they have gas models that are in the 3-4 psi range. I chose this one because it is diesel friendly.
I'm not a fan of in tank pumps. I realise the "factory correct" one is..but i still think its a stupid idea.
The facet is cheap and small and ill throw a spare in the glove box..if it cacks i can change it out in a blizzard in under 10 minutes.

Yep , a GM 302 is the correct motor for your truck .
Are you sure it is a REO motor and not a International "Red Diamond". REO had the Gold Comet motor they used.

Does anyone know if carbureators for these gmc 302 engines are avaiable in Canada . I found one in the states but the seller won't ship to Canada .

Found the problem gents was a crack in the float and it filled slowly with gas over the years and finally would not lift .

Are you sure it is a REO motor and not a International "Red Diamond". REO had the Gold Comet motor they used.

I'm not sure now. I was pretty sure it was a "Diamond" though. I had the truck scrapped this spring. The engine had two rods through the side of the block so I didn't try to save it. I sold the axles and let the rest go.
