high horsepower & extremely high torque transmissons?

Limit for this build is 150k
General rule of thumb on trail blazing a big project, take how much you think it will cost, and add 50%, and how long it will take, and add 6 months...minimum.

What's your reserve/float for when it needs tweaking or you inevitably break some parts?

How about hydraulic with variable pump(s) and variable motor(s)? Just asking if you've considered full hydraulic drive with wheel motors?

Im not gonna lie i thought about going the hydraulic way but the hydraulic motors would be huge from what i seen could you draw the system up for me. also rocks would pose a danger to the hydraulic motors wouldnt they? And loudness i would lile to have it lol

Another thought, is your engine using an electronic ignition/fuel system? Almost all, if not all, the current Allisons need one to help control the shifts and tq limiting between the shifts (think ignition kill on a sport bike with a quick shifter) in order to not break the input shafts from the shock. Their are some severe duty manual trannies, but they are not "performance oriented"...

Hydraulic motors are not huge, especially on a high pressure system. I'm not sure what wheel motors are available with variable displacement, but I would imagine they are in a bent axis and planetary gear setup. Rocks depends on a lot of factors, but it could be built with lots of clearance...even hydraulically adjustable.

Or forget wheels and we walk like an ant.

Hmm thinking back to the hydraulic drive makes me think of high pressure hydraulic dangers and leaks .-. Epa fest if something goes wrong still trying to figure out the advantages and disadvantages over a hydraulic vs a normal drive system

You still need an electric or internal combustion engine to turn the pump. You could use a variable displacement pump, the you would need accumulators to protect agains Shock loading the motors. This will also severely limit your tire RPM (a key component for midding) and cooling the fluid is going to be an issue. The weight of the system is going to be an issue, and every connection and flex hose in the system is going to be a failure point.

So cal diesel 7 liter duramax engine with wherlly fab triple turbo/triple CP3 kit.

DT466 block with a DT540 kit in it. Again triple turbo and a maxed out P7100 injection pump.

Both will fit, both capable of making 1,500-2K horse power. But when the boost comes on, the trans is not going to survive to long, even being made of unobtainium. And that shock load travels all the way to the tires. Keeping it 6x6 just adds to the price. Basically what your asking for is a diesel funny car engine/national level diesel sled puller engine and transmission to not only survive that kind of abuse, but for 2-3 mins long with little to no air flow and/or very slow ground speed.
