I personally don't consider takeoff/landing photos as "low flying", and the rest are at altitude, but I'm putting some pictures on here anyway.
Why? Because my younger Marine son is crew on the lead Osprey in the photos. :)

Photos are from Spain, over the Med, and (unknown) on their current deployment.

Cheers
Please be sure and tell him that he has a fan club over here at SS (I'm going to figure I'm not the only one).

That's a great shot of the C-130's with the Osprey escort!

I have now done so! We just welcomed him home from his deployment late Friday evening. My older boy and I went up to the base in NC, Patrick didn't know anyone was coming to greet him, so it was a pleasant surprise for him.
Having never been up close to a V-22 before, it was nice to get a guided tour of one from my son during the visit.

Cheers

Here's my boy at work yesterday. Pertinent thread material - the Osprey he is in is flying LOW! You can't tell from this picture, but he sent video too.

It was aerial-re-qual-with-the-M240 day.

Cheers

Edit- added some more pictures. He stressed that the burst in the water in the last photo is NOT his, but is coming from the second Osprey!

Here is a cell phone photo of a photo taken back in the mid 70's. This was taken at the north end of the McCall, Idaho airport. Air tanker was landing from north ,headed south over Dienhard Lane, which at the time ran straight.

Out of concerns for safety, the city has since made the street run farther to the north so the airplanes don't scare the tourists so bad!

What IS left out of the pic, is the hill that rises immediately to the north (behind the A/C). For this tanker to be this low this early in planting the gear on the runway, he had to be rubber scrubbing the sage brush!

That stop action slow-motion was a treat, and I'll agree with you about the Grumman TBF Avenger.

That guy was so low, I'd almost say it was foolhardy (you know, like in dangerous!) The Mitsubishi Zero had it more close to right I'm thinking (and very cool to see them all, but a Zero?! Extra cool!).

Do you have any idea what the Red Star on that B-25 Mitchell of the last fly-by was all about: USSR Lend Lease maybe?

Here's some special LOW FLYIN' with heroic purpose.....

These guys ain't just "showboating".

May God bless them and keep them safe in their mission.
AMEN.
Thanks for the vid, ColdWarrior.

I ran across a vid once of a Canadian operation that keeps a dwindling fleet of retired USN seaplanes for fire suppression. I'll post that if I can find it again.

I can't figure how this plane "scoops" up its payload of water. I don't see an intake.

Does anybody know how they do that?

I can't find the vid documentary, but here's a vid of one of the fleet (in slow motion) making a water landing.

If I remember right, it's a private company up in Canada somewhere who bought up a few of these monster surplused USN seaplanes, and maintain them for firefighting (to lumber concerns up there in that area).

This might be a little drifting here, but when you see this monster I think you'll agree that it's worth a little drift.

RARE Selfie....

Here's a truly unique selfie of an F-16 Pilot shortly after pulling up in the MISSING MAN FORMATION over a ball field.

He has just transitioned from LOW FLIGHT to VERTICAL FLIGHT in a fixed wing aircraft and is actually ACCELERATING !!! (This takes thrust GREATER than the mass of the aircraft - something the single engine F-16 is noted for.)

Rare Selfie of Missing Man.jpg

I salute those who render this most fitting tribute to those who during military operations have flown into their eternity on silver wings.

May God bless them all.

As a side note.... If this guy really is the "missing man", how are we getting posted selfies of him?!?!? Just sayin' that maybe he ain't missin' after all.

I found the vid, here's one short and one that's longer and more of a documentary:

low flyers Reno National championship air race edition 2016

Here's INCREDIBLE footage from the Reno national championship air races...The smaller air craft classes:formula 1,sport biplane and AT 6 all do 'race horse' starts...pilots line up to full power until the green flag drops..then onto the race course...this from the formula 1 class...luckiest pilot!
