I have a 1989 Army HMMWV with the 6.5l and the alternator pictured here is dead.452620_6004_91_0001.jpg
Can I swap out the alternator shown with a Niehoff N1602 28v 400a alternator shown here?
Any help is appreciated.

That's a 60amp....you don't want a 400amp. The upgrade is the 200amp, the kits are available for cheap.
so are the take out 200amp gens. That 400 is way to much power and requires totally different mounts.

Does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives to the Niehoff 200 amp dual voltage generator ? I have a bearing going out in mine. I was hoping to convert it to a civilian escavator size or something like that?

I already have the bearing but I’m lazy and looking for an easy way out !
