I may have missed his questions, as I have been fixing some trucks the last few days.

I should have stayed inside and answered every single daily post, I guess.

Evidently Mr Moderator you are slacking off. Furthermore, telling people to use the TMs is unacceptable. In the future there should be more coddling and hand-holding. We need all users to be aware that they can be called upon with the very next post at any time to regurgitate any dimension of any truck or trailer and quote from memory any drawing or part number from aforementioned TMs'.

Thankfully most of the people in the generator forums are a little more forgiving. Kind of hard the RTFM in the dark.:D

While I wouldn't call them studs (except maybe in thier own minds) I can't tell you what the demensions are, expect one is on the small side.

...It's ppl like u guys scaring off the new breed, who are inquisitive. After a week I've received no answers regarding a m116 trailer fitting in a 6'3"x12 ft utility trailer, I daggon drove 250 miles with my trailer with a 75% failure plan, "what if the m116 would not fit."...
I'd like to address two of your comments, if I may. Most of us are not here to scare off the Newbies. Being inquisitive is fine, demanding or expecting instant gratification with an answer is not. I like to try and answer a question, and then direct the individual to the source, usually a TM. I don't care for folks that want others to do the answer searching, and by not looking for the information themselves, have learned nothing. I agree the TM's are not the easiest documents to find answers in, but spend a little time with them and people can become very proficient. If folks are going to be in this hobby and operate this equipment, why would somebody not want to have the information at their fingertips?
My second point, it's the exception, and not the rule, that your question on your M116 fell between the cracks. I and others usually have no problem providing measurements, photos, and other information about our equipment. I have grabbed my camera, walked out to the shop to take a photo or two for a Member needing a visual to solve a problem, several times. So to sum it all up, there are alot of helpful folks on this site, give them a chance. Just my 2cents.

If you are going to have a piece of military equipment, and use it, you need the TM. I'm guessing the TM police are prior military, and they are right. It was a common for a young Joe to ask a question....and the answer would be....did you look it up in the TM? The TM's are invaluable.

Well, if you had the TM and read it BEFORE the hurricane you would not have been in the dark in the frist place. That is the piont most on hear are trying to make. If the the frist guy in this post would have looked at a TM before buing some thing, he would know how to OR more importantly how NOT TO TOW it home.

Actually a lot of the members are not former military, some of the most knowledgeable were not in the service. I wonder how they got so much information...

I was in. There is no freakin way to repair an F-4J or F-14A or etc. etc. without the manual why should any other machine be any different.

Anyone who has been on the site for more than 15 minutes has their own favorite questions that get asked over and over with no effort by the OP to use the TMs or search or even Google for that matter.
