The S/N of my AM General is 0540-11619 and I'm pretty sure it's a 1972. If you want my reg. number it's in medlogs avatar :D . My number is lower than your's but the "0540s" (dropsides) may have been numbered different.

I defer to DDoyle. The information I have is based solely upon the accuracy of the person inputting the data. I can't attest to the 100% accuracy. Just figured I'd share what was in the database...or is it what CARNAC telepathically inparted from your truck, something like that.

Dear ACKARUS:

Looks like you have a Jeep Corp truck by its Identification Number 4K56471, just a bit younger then my 1971 Kaiser Jeep M35A2 ID No.04J43671, NSN#2320-00-077-1616; ID No. 04J-43671-0525-22392; Contract No.: DAAE-06-70c-0001. The Jeep Corp trucks were a continuation of the Kaiser Jeep contract, which itself was a continuation of the Studebaker Corporation Contracts, and if David Doyle or Medlog tells you you have a Jeep, that's what gets put on the registration for its builder-NOT AM GENERAL!!! If you mess up the registration of the vehicle now it can cause grief in the future for other owners at a later date.

In any case, enjoy the history that's sitting out in your driveway, yard or wherever, because there isn't going to be anymore made like these ones.....

Regards,
Kyle F. McGrogan
