Buying a running, stopping, shifting 1952 M135 in the low 4 digit range is a good start. Since you jumped on a 6 year old thread it's not like you're stepping on someone else's info so let's chat about what you should look out for! When you buy it.....

From the bottom of the tires to the top of the roof is usually the path we take to get them on public roads. These trucks are now 60 years old so metal fatigue, frame twisting, alignments, cracks at suspension mounts, old seals/ bearings all need to be considered if you don't have documentation on maintenance. We started at catastrophic stuff first, tires, hubs, brakes, axles/ seals / bearings, steering, suspension, shocks, u-joints, Park brake, electrical, and so on.
You've got your truck running so that's good now it's going through....points, plugs, wires, capacitors, coil, gaskets, seals, oil changes, filters, starters, water-pumps, fan-belts and all the perishable items...,
The transmission is the final countdown and if that one shifts....sneak it home, grab the manual and go through the maintenance to keep it healthy.
Hard-tops went on a few different G749 models, like the M220... so check data plates and the side rail of the frame just behind the front/ passenger tire. That will confirm the model number and where it fits in the rare, medium or well done category.
Thanks for the info. Indeed there is a few things to consider. Thanks again.
Great find, it'll go good with a hummer!!!
