m35a2 air filter swap

I want to make space under my hood. Will a fender mount 5 ton air filter swap on to my m35? Does anyone have a pic if this has already been done? I want to install an oil spinner .if I remove the stock filter I will have the room I need. thanks mark.

Mark, I don't have a photo, but I've seen that mod done to several different deuces, you can do it.

A fellow SS member "Tracer" has this exact modification on his deuce. He's out of the country right now but his avatar is his truck. Do a search. BTW, I have a take off 5-ton air cleaner housing and brackets if you need them. Has a bit of cancer along the bottom but nothing you can't fix easily or just leave as is.

I'm installing a 500HP Cummins in my deuce. I figured I would need a lot of air flow for that HP so I bought a 5 ton air filter housing. It uses 5" in and out duct. I just found a 5" rain cap but for the multifuel it will be easy to adapt the stock rain cap.

Yes it does fit. I got my deuce from the idaho forrestry service and it already had it done.

thanks for the pics,but thats not the filter I was thinking of. I am not sure now where I saw the one I am looking for. I have a m54 wrecker with the lds4651a with the c turbo here I put on my m35 but not what I want.

M715, the one you want is off the 5-ton multi-fuel. Search google for M543A2 wrecker pics. I will respond to your PM after I check to make sure i have all the parts you need.

I put my hood and mud flaps back on.I washed the canvass seat cover and am working on a driver seat. I am posting a few pics,not sure what this turbo is.

Schwitzer model 4-LE-354, should be right on the data plate. Waste gated. Came factory mounted on LDS 465-1A engines only.

Stands upright? Hum, the one I have sits horizontal on the fender. I'm now not sure what you want. It's out on the fender and sits upright?

Mike yes sits upright,also smaller in dia. with a round cover on the front.

Aha! Now we're getting somewhere. I don't have an m35a3 air cleaner for you. There are several M35A3 owners on this site who can answer your questions.
