I see you got the clevis pin out for the clutch linkage. ;-)

Fun isn't it? That is, WITHOUT pulling too far and losing the pieces inside.
Actually I pulled Iit too far. It was rusted solid. Stupid setup. I'm replace it with a clevis pin and cotter pin and alot of antiseize

Ok problem.
Reading TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2 page 677 sect 5-47 through page 683 5-53.
It shows a gasket with the short picktube for the rear sump but doesnt show squat for the front tube. Is that also a pickup tube ??
Does it need a gasket ?

Tm seems to be missing info here.

Looking at the parts TM 9-2815-210-34P, figure 20, it looks like there is a gasket for the long pickup tubes, item #35. The short tube looks like a gasket #19, o-ring #34 and a gasket #28

Waiting for clutch. The good news is the flywheel had been replaced and was virgin so it cleaned up nice with a fresh cut .
Clutch is on order from Kublos and oil pump gaskets from TNJ . I stripped the old motor yesterday. It was a good experience because now I know how to dissamble pretty muvh anything. I goofed with the inj pump removal. It looked lime the gear needed to come off but it did not so If I ever have to use the IP I will have to figure out how to realign the gear to the IP.
Saved everything including oil cooler, the good cyl head. My buddy wants a piston from it to make a lamp. Maybe Ill make one for my son. I was gonna save the cam and crank but homestly I doubt Ill ever need them and they are too hesvy to ship to sell.
Gotta figure out how to remove thebbalancer. With it all ripped apatt it was a good demonstration model to show my 8yr old how it works.
Opened the oil filters. Saw metal bits so I am very confident this engine is scrap.

The TM shows gaskets for both flywheel housing to block and trans to bell housing. what purpose do they serve ? Insulator or for deep water travel ?
RTv ? Or do I need to source new ones ?

Gaskets required for the deep water fording kit. If you plan on keeping it high and dry, use sillycone.

I would prefer to use the gskets..Who carries them ?
Why ask what to use of you already made up your mind? Any reputable dealer has them.

Kublos had thdm. He is sending them out today. I will have them for the install party.
I have a love/hate relationship with the TMs....
They are very detailed but difficult to Navigate...

Kublos has been pretty good to me as well. Ken is a great guy. My clutch kit arrived in 2 days and came with everything including the alignment tool.
