I think he means the 1 in the tachograph. Perhaps he will chime in and give us a better idea.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
It means your bumping the governor. Your motor should turn 2100 mine is turned up to 2400rpmWhen shifting into 16th gear, at highway cruising speeds, a red light flickered in the top of the dash gauge, the one for speed and engine speed. What does the light indicate? I was about 2000 RPM.
If I get a chance to fire up the 920 Monday and I will take it to the governor in first gear and see if I am correct. The light in my tachograph turns on at 65 mph, I've always thought it was an "overspeed" light.
Curious minds want to know, I couldn't find anything in the -10 that jumped out at me. In the engine retarder section it eludes to after 2300 rpm the tranny disengages, that maybe what you are referring to. Would scare the crap out of me if I didn't have any gears starting up hill.Mine runs in the red most of the time. Nothing to worry about. What will scare the bee geebeze out of you is go down a small hill with the pedal to the medal in 16th gear. and see what happens when you go up the hill on the other side lol It got my attension til I read the manuals deeper
That was exactly what I was talking about !! scares the beegeebees out of you ( thought I had broken something) . once your speed drops to like 50 it re engages by itself. But until it does your free wheeling ! That's why increasing tire size is better to increase your top speed then increasing your rpm.Curious minds want to know, I couldn't find anything in the -10 that jumped out at me. Its my understanding that it will disengage at 2300 rpm even with the retarder on as it is there to keep you from blowing up your engine.Has anyone had this transmission disengagement issue at 2300 rpms w/wo the retarder? That would be a surprise.
Yep and Yep. The truth, I don't think I will stop up shifting useing the inhibitor when unloaded.TM 9-2320-273-10

Use of the inhibitor override when the truck is in motion
is prohibited. The shift inhibitor override should only be
used when the vehicle is at a complete stop.
