they look great. What centers in the Humvee rims? Do you have any spacers behind the rims? What rpm are you at doing 70 mph without overdrive? Great thread, thanks!
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Completely stock H1 wheels, no spacers, but I am running ~75" wms-wms dually axles. No tach yet, but im guessing with the 4 speed 700r4 Im doing somewhere around 2200rpms at 70mph.they look great. Looks great! What battery terminals did you use? I need to upgrade mine with thoseIts been over two years since ive updated the build. I did just drive and enjoy it, got busy with the other builds in the fleet, but i do have some updates.
Fist thing to address was the wiring harness. Basically it had 37 years of previous owners cutting and splicing.... poorly.
I envisioned a clean, simplified, professional looking wire harness.
I purchased an assortment of colors and gauges of oxygen free, 100% copper marine grade Wires, heat skink wrap and water proof connectors and went to town:

Initially, i wanted to just retrofit a few wires, But once i got in there, i ended up pretty much rebuilding the entire thing. Taking the hood off was really the only way

I upped the gauges on all the power wires, (batteries, alt, starter, glow plugs, main bus etc)
I am extremely please at the results. Also went a head and cleaned a few things up while i was in there with a bit of paint
The truck starts and runs so much better and I am 100% confident in the electrical system now.

That's an impressive build you've done. I'm thinking the most painless thing you could do about the rear locker is to just get another axle. There's a 14 bolt with disks locally on Craigslist for $300 here. They're not hard to find.
