Got finished with the dash last night and wanted to show how good it looks. Last photo is the old dash to give you a better visual. Not the oem dash from LMC but a repro from NPD and we had to punch a few holes but the black looks good in my opinion. We are going to a pull a part today in Louisville and look for seats. BTW the correct glow plugs came in today.

very nice! So you went with the $250 urethene over the $130 dash cover? ours has a couple of cracks in it and i didn't realize they made replacement dashes.

so you went with the $130 one? I see 3: OEM - $300ish; urethene - $250 and the 'cover' - $130

i like how yours turned out but couldnt tell if you glued it to your old dash or replaced it. sounds like you glued it to the old dash? i cant tell from the pics how you installed it.

Got the urethane one. It's very rubbery. Can't paint it but they have like 5 colors. The original was too far gone for a cover. Went to the pull it and found some seats (hope they fit) and lucked up to find an ashtray insert.

Today my Son and I spent cleaning and working the new seats we scalped from a Mini Van at the pull it place yesterday. They are the second row seats, but exactly what we were looking for; just $60 for the pair. Had to do some modification of the base and clean the new ones up of all the kiddy crud dropped in them. Thanks to the wife for suggesting Mr Clean erasers. We also bought a magnetized cup holder from Harbor Freight; son painted it black and it works like a charm.

We will have to get some covers to make them black but I like these chairs better.

Got wiper arms and new blades, and glow plugs to do tomorrow. We also have the inner fenders to do. I wanted to add a photo of an upcoming project for restoration. Any guesses as to what it is?

Short day as I don't normally like working on Sunday aside from cleaning cars etc. changed out the original wiper arms , new blades, and got the glow plugs changed. The plugs were not swollen but we were getting hard starts etc. and looked like the original plugs. We also cleaned the wire connectors and blew them out with compressed air. Started cleanly first time. :clinto: Took the time to show my son all the fluid checks and what to look for. Took off the windshield washer tank, cleaned it and replaced fluids with washer good through -20. While. Taking out the seats yesterday we have a cracked floor. Here is a picture, thoughts on a fix?

or the likes down your way? I would have used a small propane torch and heated the nut underneath. But it is broken now. Do you have access to a torch? And if you have the nut broken off what is holding the bolt in the floor? You need to put a huge fender flat washer underneath the truck to spread out the stress on that area of the floor. Brush it with some new seize and under coat it after you install it. It will last for years. That is a common stress crack that I see on many M1009 front floors. It does the same thing on the back floor where the rear seat is mounted to the floor at the seat hinge. Same fix just put a big fender washer and drill and pop a few rivets around it. or tack weld helps release the tension on the same spot. That comes from years of rough riding and large men and women riding in it and slamming the seats back and forth. 250 + pounds has a lot of leverage at the height on a thin piece of sheet metal. Like overloading anything. Something has to give. Good Luck. Easy fix don't sweat it.

Rick you can come on down anytime you feel like it. That nut broke from a front hole believe it or not just got under and held it with the vice grips. I like your pop rivet idea and assume a larger piece of thicker gauge metal would work just fine behind that crack?

Four new Gabriel truck shocks today took a greater part of the day than we wanted. I put PB Blaster on each nut for two days and still had major issues getting those suckers loose even with a breaker bar. One of my front upper bolts seized on the spacer; thank goodness for vise grips and a lot of BFI. :mrgreen: A lot less body roll now, very noticeable.
