This first installment is a mod that even purists can go for.

On Page 500-56 of the TM, we have a conflict with some of the older units. But one I like! Originally, under the grill area, there were three bays. Individually they don't store much. In the newer manuals they have instructions to store the griddle splash guard there, the poles for extending the screens on hot days, and even the lights..... but alas the older models have baffles that break this large space (about 64 inches long) into roughly THREE 21 inch sections. Pitmaster T cuts out the baffles and now he can store those items out of the way. WHICH gets the highest dollar item, the lights, out of harms way and away from a prowler's eyes.

Good idea .......... Has anyone used Clint Eastwood's " Improvise, Adapt, Overcome" and come up with a shelf/rack for the Sam.s Club size spice containers or other NSF approved #10 can storage that can be mounted somewhere and the top still retract without interference. I know that a fully equipped kitchen had a bunch of the warmer boxes and Kool Aid can stacked everywhere. ........I want to make the trailer more cook friendly. ........I want to find as many uses for my $100,000.00 GI hot dog cooker that I can. I had a square cooker bottom pan I got at the Salvation Army second hand store for $10.00 and I have used it cooking pork loins, baked whole hams, beef roasts and briskets over the years.

Hmm, I was thinkin of that... so the new ones go over one more. You know, I might do that. The poles lying around inside get caught on the stairs and you always have to move some poles... then some stairs. It would be nice to basically have just four out - the corners. Then you could pop up, reach in, pop up the corners, pull the stairs... pop up the vents if its hot and then start in on all the other poles pulled from storage.

On my FST (the sink/wash trailer) I store the poles on the bottom drying rack. I know 'mitchg' stores his poles in the roof section, held near the centerline with bungee cords (he has a six vent roof and cross pieces that support them there). Having the poles stored on the floor on the sides of the ladders and cabinets is a terrible spot and I know contributes to damage to the railing supports.
