The weather finally broke a little, 40F but no rain or snow so I was able to crawl around, over and under my deuce today. Took pics of data tags on differentials, engine, transfer case, brake lines etc. Learned a lot but came up with more questions. First I found a broken wire on LH side near the front axel. One side went into a bundle near the LH turn signal. Other end went to this box on the steering column near the firewall. Only one wire coming out of it but I'm guessing it has to do with the turn signal? Next pic is the bellhousing and there is an opening where a plug should go. Also a new hardware in the area. Can anyone shed some light on this? An inspection port maybe? Recent work I'm guessing but leaving the flywheel open to contaminates is just plain wrong.
